Effexor-XR Combination w/Opiates = Safe?

Hello, BL'ers. Well I have searched the Antidepressant & Drug combinations thread, and it does list everything else that can or can't be combined with Venlafaxine (Effexor), but it does NOT list opiates.

I just switched to Effexor-XR from Paxil 10mg, although i was on Paxil 60mg long before that, anyway I just took my first 37.5mg dosage of Effexor-XR today and I do feel quite more anxious than usual, but they say this is quite a common side effect at first).

I am also trying to kick my Oxycodone addiction at the same time, i've kicked a 600mg oxycodone habit before, and my habit now is usually maximum around 160mg/day of Oxycodone. Anyway, can anyway confirm if this combination is okay?

Also - what about diphenhydramine and Effexor? I usually take Diphenhydramine to boost my Oxycodone. I am also on Lyrica as well 75mg x2 a day.

Yes it is fine, I was taking 240mg of oxy a day while on effexor xr......But I found for some reason while on effexor it took me much higher doses of opiates to get high, and after reading a thread earlier about how the same enzyme that metabolizes opiates also metabolizes venlafaxine (effexor), it kinda made me wonder whether it was the venlafaxine reducing the effects of opiates.....idk though.
