Hi all,

I am currently prescribed 100mg of tramadol (every 4 hours) for low level pancreatitis pain but i recently got some Valium 10mg tablets as a freebie when i bought some weed. I was just wondering what the combined effect of the tramadol and valium would be. is one going to increase the effect of the other? if so what size doses of each would you need before you become too 'impaired' to function normally. i.e i don't want to look like i've just drunk a bottle of vodka lol :)

help and opinions appreciated

cheers

motilbloke.

Do you have a low tolerance to opiates/opiods? Also, whats your tolerance to Valium. I have scoliosis & I need 200mgs Tramadol with 500mgs of Nebumatone (anti-inflammatory) taken together to do anything for my pain. I rather take 20mgs of hydrocodone & 500mgs of Nebumatone. Tramadol for me doesnt work so good for my pain.

Im assuming if you dont take many narcotics, which Tramadol isnt a narcotic anyway, you should feel the Tramadol & Valium & you will get high.

Good starting dose of tramadol for me is 250mg with a benzo, tend not to feel anything below that. Just be careful mixing the two.

Indeed. The main risk of high tramadol doses is seizures, although taking a benzo (such as Valium/diazepam) reduces this risk. The usual warnings about mixing opiates and benzos still apply, however, so tread with caution.

If you get stimulative effects from tramadol then taking valium would probably dull those effects. Many people here suggest that taking benzos with high doses of tramadol is wise (to prevent possible seizures). I am using tramadol daily and do find that for me valium doesn’t affect that much while on tramadol. Tramadol is very subjective drug. So if you get sedating effects from tramadol, then valium will most likely sedate you more.

This is a combination question and belongs in Basic Drug Discussion, I'll move it over there for ya :)

OD --> BDD
