Effects/concerns of DHC + dl-methylephedrine + chlorpheniramine + Caffeine? (Bron SS)

I have a number of questions about the Japanese OTC drug Bron SS tablets. I've read every thread I can find here and at other sites, most of them are 5+ years old. It's been difficult to find information. I just don't know enough about the chemistry.

In 12 tablets, Bron SS contains:

30mg dihydrocodeine (~2.5mg/pill)
50mg dl-methylephedrine hydrochloride (~4.17mg/pill)
8mg chlorpheniramine maleate (~0.67mg/pill)
90mg caffeine (~7.5mg/pill)

Let's assume an opiate-naive user, aiming to chill out on DHC maybe twice per week, cycling off for three weeks when tolerance becomes noticeable.

One large bottle contains 84 tablets. So, for simplicity, let's assume a recreational dose of 42 tablets. 30 tablets intially, then 12 taken two hours later:

105mg dihydrocodeine
175mg dl-methylephedrine hydrochloride
28mg chlorpheniramine maleate
315mg caffeine (this is a safe daily dose)

Questions:

1. What does dl-methylephedrine hydrochloride do? Dangerous dose? I've read a lot about methylephedrine (especially 4-methylephedrine here) but I don't know if that's all applicable to dl-methylephedrine hydrochloride. What does the "dl" and "hydrochloride" mean/do?

2. Chlorpheniramine maleate side effects include drowsiness and slowed heart rate, so an overdose can put you out and kill you. A couple sites list a maximum daily dose of 32mg, so this should be safe? (Note: many recognize CPM because it has bad effects with DXM. Without DXM, from what I understand, it's not so dangerous.)

3. Anything besides MAOIs to avoid?

4. Anything I'm missing?
