Effectivity of Bupropion for treating depression

So since I deceided to stop my drug use. Im seeing a lot of doctor because of my withdrawal symptom. The last one I saw asked me if I was feeling fine and I said, not really... so he told me meaby I should see a psychologist but it is too expencive so he said he would schedule an appointement with my own doctor so I can talk a little with him. Than I thought about antidepressant, I have tried Paroxetine in the past and I didnt like it. I also tried Bupropion but it was for ADD... I dont really remember the effect, I know it didnt help my ADD but I believe it elevated my mood... But it was a while ago so I dont remember clearly. I also have anxiety and I think Bupropion doesnt help with that compared to SSRI.

I would decribe my mood as depress, lack of motivation, lose of interest for most thing I used to enjoyed, Almost ahedonia, I feel slow...

Do you think Bupropion could be good for me ?

Do you think of something else that could help me more then Bupropion ?

Im not sure but do Bupriopion cause anorexia ?
 
Please keep in mind that no matter how much they are overprescribed by physicians (and they are), antidepressants are not for everybody. Furthermore, each individual may react markedly different from one another.

With that said, I personally think Wellbutrin added to Prozac has been very beneficial to me. I had incredibly hard time getting out of bed, getting motivated to do anything I needed to do, was constantly down on myself, tired and exhausted all the time, mentally and physically. I have a lot more energy, improved focus and concentration, overall better moods, higher lows when I am depressed, little to no suicidal thoughts anymore and overall a much more optimistic view of life.

You'll hear both success and horror stories from these types of medication. Don't just let one side sway you one way or another. Do plenty of your own research and weigh the pros and cons. There are also forums more directly related to depression that specifically cover medication where you can find more info. I tend to think Bluelight is sort of bias when it comes to antidepressants. One influential person has a bad experience with them and they are forever labelled the work of the devil by those who take what they read on hear as the gospel.
 
I always thought bupropion was a nice antidepressant but it blocked the effects of my Adderall completely (which leads me to believe that it may have stronger DA reuptake inhibition than many studies have led me to believe). I'm now on desvenlafaxine (Pristiq) an SNRI which I think is a fabulous antidepressant, especially in conjunction with Mirtazapine, a combination colloquially referred to as "California Rocket Fuel."
 
What drug are you physically dependent on and getting WDs from? If it's an opiate, buprenorphine (brand name Subutex or Suboxone) is used for the treatment of opiate addiction and has also been used very successfully off label for treating depression.

I was misdiagnosed as depressed and prescribed antidepressants at age 16. Now at age 21 I know that I'm most likely endorphin deficient but at 16 I had been raised to trust my doctor and took Zoloft for 6 months before the insomnia, personality changes, and panic attacks became too much and I just stopped.
 
Yeah it was an opioid but the chance to get a script for Suboxone to treat depression is 0 lol. I dont know where you live to get that kind of script but its very unlikely here. They barely prescribe opiate for pain lol.
 
Bupropion is one of the 2 anti-depressants i have taken that actually work for my bipolar depression without driving me completely manic. The other one being amitriptyline. It doesn't have the shitty side effects of SSRI's or SNRI's and for me i can feel it working after only a week. If you get the type of depression where you are sleeping 16 hours a day but are still tired, you are always fatigued, you have anhedonia and low sex drive then bupropion would be the 1st one to try in my opinion. Since it's a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor it's actually sort of stimulating and i find that it sort of wakes my brain up for lack of a better word and makes everything seem not as bleak. A few big advantages it has over SSRI's and SNRI's is that instead of crushing your sex drive it actually tends to increase it. Wellbutrin makes me horny as fuck actually. Also it doesn't cause any real withdrawal symptoms which is another big plus. Another thing is that it is the only drug approved to treat seasonal affective disorder which is a plus for me cause i get that something awful come late fall right up until the weather starts to warm up again which here is usually mid June :|

So in my opinion it would definitely be worth a shot atleast.
 
Thats exactly why I spotted Bupropion, because it doesnt have SRI effect it might act as a MILD stimulant that should gives me a little kick in the ass to get things done and elevate my motivation. My mood also drop during the winter like pretty much everybody I believe, some more then other but weather definitely affect our moods.

One thing I hate about SSRI is all those side effects specially the intense fat gain, all those interaction, with paroxetine I was getting sick from food that have high sugar content and also alcohol and others thing that I forgot. To make it short, I was sick often with Paroxetine.
