EDC Electric Daisy Carnival 2010?

well i stay like 20 minutes away from fairpark so i HAVE to go. this is going to be one amazing night... if you want to say hi you can pm for a number or something. i'll likely be wearing a bright yellow shirt with a white bandana around my neck, not to mention all my kandi bracelets/necklaces.

@mango: took me 2 minutes yesterday, but that was after two hours of it opening. Id suspect the line to be pretty long in the beginning, but probably no more than 10-20 minutes.

Line to get in was near nonexistant when I got there last year as well, but again, it had been running for two hours already.

yeahhhh thread title is confusing. there are 3 other EDC's :O
 
To my knowledge, Insomniac hires a private company to do security, so its completely up to the guards what they want to search. They havent said anything abuot gum, I dont believe, so I doubt you'd have trouble getting unopened packs in.

EDC has never happened in Dallas, no, but its been going on since the 90's here in LA.
 
Ok, thanks. I'd read in some forums that gum isn't allowed at some California massives for some reason. I guess wearing sunglasses should do the trick pupil-wise if the guards care, even though I'm assuming plenty of people will be rolling balls.
 
IMO its their reason for having troubles making each one all that great in terms of planning. Too much to do in so little time.

insomniac doesnt run security, security is private. its up to them. they will fuck with u im sure and search u down harder but will probably still send u inside. most times the security guards there are the waiting for there shift to end so they can go inside.
 
^My experience with private security at raves (including 4 insomniac events this past year) has always been straightforward and easy. They aren't there to make your life difficult, they have thousands of people to go through and like you said, they just want their shift to end.

Empty your pockets, lift up your arms, get patted down your sides and you're done. Never taken more than 5 seconds.

At least year's EDC though I heard that they were making people take off their shoes, but they didn't for me. They made me throw away my bandana though for no reason...when I got inside every other person was wearing one :\
 
Its different with every person you get. The person who checked me last year was cheking the inside of my belt, and the person next to me had to take off his shoes.


Word of the wise: Scope the lines out before you jump into them. See how they're doing the searching, and pick a fast moving line. Be as easy to work with as possible as well. As eon said, empty your pockets before you get there, and be as quick as possible with everything.

If you comply with the rules on the website, they'll let you in faster, but if you dont and they have to throw stuff away from you or what not, they're more inclined to search harder.
 
Yeah, I should have mentioned I've never brought in a backpack or anything suspicious looking. Although at TAO, my girlfriend brought in a bottle of vicks vaporub. The security guard grabbed it, examined it and asked her "so, this stuff feels pretty good huh?" She laughed nervously and said yes. He handed it back to her. lol.
 
is anyone getting a hotel room? everything nearby is pretty much sold out or ridiculously priced...i just want to come kick it with some cool people and entertain w some light shows. pm me!
