My first time experience with ecstasy occurred just a month ago.

Through my teenage years, 20’s, and 30’s, I’ve heard only what the government reported about ecstasy and the dangers associated with it. I did not personally know anyone who took it, so first hand account information was very limited.

Fast forward to June 2008, Las Vegas, NV, Downtown, the Fremont Experience. A friend who’s experienced with ecstasy obtained 2 pills, a Blue Heart (or Dolphin) and a Red Spiderman, along with 1 capsule.

Being my first time and a bit nervous of the unknown, I decided to split the blue pill and only take half. My friend was taking the capsule.

We bought 2 water bottles and took the half pill and capsule; it was about an hour away from darkness.
Also was told to start chewing some spearmint gum, which I did.
The temperature outside was probably close to 100 degrees. Yeah, it was hot!

After walking around the Fremont Experience area for around 30 mins, I told my friend that I didn’t feel anything. Slightly frustrated, I took the other half pill in hopes something would happen.

As the first light show along Fremont Experience was about to begin, we sat down in the middle of the walking area. At first I thought my actions were a little weird because A) no one else was sitting down on what could look like dirty concrete, and B) I usually wouldn’t do something like that unless I see the majority of people around me doing the same thing.

As we sat and waited, I felt a great warmth overtake my entire body. It almost felt like an onset of a fever, but different. I then noticed my voice sounded like I was talking through a tunnel with a slight echo. Then came the slo-mo side to side head turn, and I thought ‘This is it!”. I looked over at my friend and into her eyes and no words were necessary. It almost seemed like we were communicating on another level, and all I could think about was, “.. how cool is this??”.

Timing couldn’t have been more perfect as the light show above us started.. 4 blocks long and music pumping through the streets. At this time we just laid completely down on our backs facing up to the show above us. I could see people looking at us wondering why in the heck we’re laying down when everyone else is standing, but I didn’t care one bit what anyone was saying or thinking. Very unlike me, but I was living completely in the moment and loved every second of it!

After the short 5 minute show, we walked around all the kiosk shops along the street and saw the most fascinating things, like those wind spiral decorations. I could have easily stared it for a while, but decided to keep moving onto the next stimulation.

I was told to slow down my water take and just take sips (I may have been on my 2nd bottle). It wasn’t because I was thirsty, but I kept drinking because the bottle was in my hand.

Still in my euphoric state, I came up to a giant neon rainbow that blinked in stages and I thought that was the most coolest thing in the world! My friend told me to keep moving so I don’t attract attention. What seemed like seconds to me probably was minutes, my sense of time and place were whacked.

As we walked up and down the Fremont Experience countless number of times, which seemed to never get old or boring, I felt my skin temperature change from hot to what felt like a cool 70 degrees, but I knew it was 95+ degrees still. Then several minutes later, I would start to get hot and palms starting to get sweaty. This cycle seemed to repeat several times.

Taste buds started to get over enhanced. As I licked my own lips, I swear it tasted like sugar! I thought it was from the gum or whatever, but after drinking more water and wiping my mouth, still sugar! It was very trippy.
I decided to get a new piece of gum and throw out the old.. big mistake. The new piece of gum tasted like a sugar bomb went off in my mouth! It was so sweet, it was almost unbearable.

Skin feelings became enhanced. As we continued walking down the sidewalk, my friend ahead of me brushed up against a long leafy bush (we’re both in shorts), then turned around and said, “Walk though that! It feels like velvet!” Of course I complied, and the bush felt so smooth and velvety, it was amazing. Just then, a person behind us did the same thing, but her reaction was “Ouch!!”. At that point, I was like, “What the fuck is happening?”

Time for more water. As we walked into the convenience store, it was ultra bright in there, like everything was in HD. I squinted a bit making my way to the back to get more water.

+~4 hours later, my senses start to comedown and things start to come back to reality. It was kind of sad because I really wanted that feeling to come back. But I did feel a sense of post-euphoria and it felt great.

For those keeping up, you know we had 1 Red Spiderman left. We ended up splitting that pill on our second night, but could not duplicate the feeling I had the night before. Nonetheless, it was still an ‘enhanced’ evening on the Las Vegas strip.

Since returning home, not one day went by without the thought of taking more ecstasy. It wasn’t until this week that I was finally able to get more. I’m just not sure when and where I’ll do it next, but what’s important is that I do have some now. :)

Ecstasy has changed my outlook on life for the better, I’m sure of it. I’ve become more of an open person since that trip and I have ecstasy to thank for that.
