Ecstasy: Face Facts video winners

I thought exactly the same of the choice one. Perhaps it was a piss take?

I was thinking of entering and spending the money on e :D

A 10x bigger effort is needed to combat the growing ALCOHOL fueled violence

Does anyone know which party is against these laws in Australia? Cause I'll vote for them even if nobody else does
 
But now mummies and daddies can sit in their lounge rooms comforted in the knowledge that these ads would scare their children from trying ecstasy.

I'm sure the government is fully aware it will never work, but the war on drugs brings in the crucial family votes. Drug users don't vote do they? Aren't they too busy down some alley somewhere?
 
I don't know about you guys but I could sure as hell go for a pie right about now :D.

Seriously though they are horrible videos, all scare tactics with no facts.
 
The only adds they get kind of right are the marijuana ones.

At least they use facts of sorts when they talk about it's abuse... Can hurt your relationsihps, kill creativity and also productivity.

This add on the other hand is total BS.

A truthful aproach is far better than sensationalism, but it does not win votes from Ma and Pa. StOOpid election year :(
 
hmm, just watched all 6 videos. All negatives no positives lame!!! What I want to know is, how many of the 6 directors/video makers have actually ate a proper mdma high bean yes i'm calling it bean cuz i'm trying to be american yo :P

Someone from BL should of made a video, Or even someone thats from the Rave scene. That knows the Plur!

And yes, i do feel like a meat now too. No meat pie in my freezer thou :( :(
 
The winning advertisement isn't too bad with respect to the target broadened demographic in comparison to others which focus directly on teenagers. However as we all know these individuals and groups tend to be less susceptible to government messages once the actual facts become apparent which is why there are these shock ads to actually make the target engage.

EDIT: To add they are pretty lame videos but the agency/amateur has for filled its job of deterring current and prospective ecstasy users. The governments aim isn't to show these so called facts because apparently according to their research (if they have any that is :S) shock tactics are a lot more effective and prevent the aforementioned users from consuming these drugs, this isn't just evident in these ads but the official government ads as well.

Impressive production value on the first two. Ignoring the propaganda bullshit they are well-made.

It's a pity the government won't think through the issue logically. If the main argument against ecstasy is that it's made by dodgy cooks in unhygienic conditions with unreliable contents then wouldn't it make more sense to regulate MDMA instead of outlawing it? Then it's safer for users, doesn't put money into the black market, can raise tax revenue, etc... The vast majority of experts on illicit drug use support harm reduction. It just plain makes sense.

Almost every single film focussed on the fact that taking pills is a gamble.

What a pity they didnt offer a solution such as "USE A TEST KIT".

The pie advert was absolute rubbish and I have no idea how it could possibly have won.

Every single advert relied on scare tactics which is just simply not going to work on the majority of people who are likely to use mdma.




I also agree with someones comments up there about the pointlessness of advertising against mdma when its all dead now anyways.
 
It saddens me that there are talented young people out there willing to prostitute themselves and their skills to assist their government in it's efforts to terrorize its people. Everyone of these contestents are shills who lack ANY capacity for independent critical thought.
