The Trip

Last night, Lovefest in San Francisco was an incredible experience. I have used ecstasy a total of 6 times in my life, and cannabis many more. I have never used the two together.

My girlfriend and I took our first pill, a green glock, at about 10:00 pm, an hour and 15 minutes after taking some Tums. I always have to take Tums before I roll, or else I experience incredible nausea. These pills were reagent tested by a friend and confirmed to contain MDMA.

At about 10:30, my girlfriend and I were taking pictures on a balcony above the main floor. Neither of us was rolling yet, and my girlfriend said she felt as though she would never start. We then started up the stairs from the second to third floor. As we climbed the stairs, we began to feel our roll coming up, almost symbolically increasing with each step higher. As we finally reached the top of the stairs, we were hit with an intense rush of that familiar rolling feeling.

I was hardly energetic and wanted nothing more than to sit and talk with my girlfriend. We discussed our feelings for quite some time, and it was much like a therapy session. I felt that I could bring up topics that would otherwise make her upset. We could talk about absolutely anything, and we took advantage of that.

Several times, we took trips to the bathroom, meeting people on the way. We met a girl who asked to take a picture of us, then we began talking with her about intriguing topics, such as the fact that race doesn't actually exist and how it is socially constructed. I also met a guy with whom I discussed stealing. We went over our techniques and exchanged tips. I felt relieved to be able to talk with someone about my illegal obsession.

We were sitting outside of the main room when we heard ATB's "Ecstasy" playing. Realizing that ATB's set was starting, we were both overwhelmed with an incredible burst of energy and ran inside to meet our friends. We all started dancing with what seemed like unending excitement.

At about 12:00 am, 2 hours after our first pill, we decided to split a second pill. It was a yellow scorpion. Unfortunately this pill was untested, but a friend had one earlier and said it felt a bit speedy. I remember holding the pill in my hand, but I don't remember actually putting it in my mouth and swallowing; however, my friends all confirmed that I did.

Neither I nor my girlfriend felt any of the speedy effects that our friend did. In fact, our roll hardly changed at all. It definitely came up a bit, but nothing was different about it.

Later in the night, as we were coming down, we met two guys who we referred to as James Franco and Seth Rogen. We did so because one of them actually looked like James Franco, and the other was rolling a blunt, much like in Pineapple Express. We talked with them a bit and found out that they lived in the same city as my uncle. After a while of talking, we asked if we could get in on their blunt. They seemed hesitant, telling us that they already had six heads on it. We politely withdrew our offer and went back to talking. Eventually we went to the bathroom and said goodbye to them.

On our way back from the bathroom, we passed them in a different location and again brought up smoking with them. This time, they agreed. Seth Rogen showed us his hash and explained to us how it was made. As we were sitting with them in a row of bleachers, my girlfriend began rubbing James Franco's leg. She assured me that she was only doing it so they wouldn't forget we were smoking with them. I began to feel a bit distant from her, as I get jealous very easily. I asked her to hold my hand so that I could feel closer to her. I told her I was okay with her rubbing his leg, but it made me feel more and more distant as she continued.

Once we smoked, things began to get very interesting.

I felt that the weed had burned my throat, and the dryness was causing me to feel the nausea that I feel if I take my pills without taking Tums first. I calmly drank water and waited it out.

We went back to our group of friends, feeling like we were rolling once again. I stood up and told them that I was going to go refill our water bottle at the drinking fountain. I walked down the hallway and ended up at the fountain, where I held my bottle out and watched as the water slowly filled it up. About 10 seconds later, the water fountain faded away and I realized that I was actually standing several feet from it, holding out my water bottle to nothing but air and pressing down on an imaginary handle. I looked back at the security guard who was staring at me, puzzled. I then calmly walked to the actual fountain and filled the bottle.

At another point during the evening, I walked from two of my friends to my girlfriend to give her some water. She was less than five feet away, but for some reason I walked past her. I had completely forgotten where I was and what I was doing. I then found myself to be at the opposite end of the stadium, several hundred feet from my friends. I could now see my thoughts in front of me. They appeared as white streaks, crossing from one end of my vision to the other in an X pattern, getting mixed up in the middle, which I assumed was causing my confusion. I felt that if I didn't realize what I was doing soon, I would become frightened. Piece by piece, I remembered. First, I remembered that I was looking for someone. Second, I remembered I was bringing this person water. Next I remembered this person was my girlfriend. Finally, I remembered who she was. As I prepared to walk back from the end of the stadium, I looked down to realize that I was actually only two steps from her the entire time.

My girlfriend experienced the exact same lost feeling at one point as we were walking towards the bathroom.

During a time when my girlfriend and I were sitting together, just watching the sea of people below us, she could tell that I wasn't feeling 100 percent. She was right. I told her I felt distant from her. To make me feel better, she told me she loved me, and said she would keep telling me every 15 minutes. When we discussed it after we sobered up, I told her that she had actually said she loved me every 30 seconds. I still don't know if it was me who had lost my sense of time or if it was her.

Later on, my girlfriend and I were laying on our stomachs in the hallway, staring at each other. I felt as though I was laying on a cloud, but the cloud appeared pixelated and the sky was a single solid blue. At the same time, I felt as though I was laying on a raft, floating through the ocean. I kept switching back and forth between these two settings. My girlfriend then told me she felt as though she was on a cloud, then that she felt like we were floating on a wooden plank in the ocean. I was amazed that we both felt the exact same way.

During the end of Armin Van Buren's set, my girlfriend started shaking, and I was stricken with fright. I asked her if she was okay, and she said she felt great. She had imagined that we were having sex and that the music was causing her to feel orgasmic waves throughout her body. At one point, she stared out into the sea of people and felt as though she was in a cage underwater, so she held her breath until she realized that she wasn't. She also told me that as she was staring down at the dance floor and rows of seats below us, that it all got flipped up and appeared as a vertical wall in front of her.

At some point during the night, we began to think that our new friend Seth Rogen's hash was laced with something, as our friends took the same pills as us and experienced none of the things we did.

Afterthoughts

It seems as though the hash was laced with some sort of hallucinogen or dissociative. I wouldn't know, as I've never taken any drugs knowingly other than Ecstasy, Cannabis, and Alcohol. I have had a pill reported to contain Meth, but this didn't feel the same as that all.

Does anyone have any idea what could have caused these experiences?

The tail end of MDMA can cause these types of hallucinations, and marijuana can bring out these and other psychedelic effects (and really cause psychedelic effects of its own). Unless your hash smelled REALLY funny when you smoked it, it is highly unlikely that it was laced.

ebola

I hallucinate plenty on the comedown from MDMA, it was probably just the comedown mixed with the hash, which in itself is a psychedelic...

MDMA and weed go together perfectly for me though...if I'm rolling...I'm also smoking...

Oh wow, I really didn't know that MDMA can cause hallucinations, even after all I've read. I'm going to try smoking during my next roll and see if I get similar effects.

Yes, real MDMA IS indeed, slightly psychedelic. Especially at high doses, when combined with GOOD pot, rolling is INCREDIBLE.

I really love good smoke with X, it's a fantastic voyage.

On the tail end of a roll, I like to lay down after a good smoke, with my headphones on, and drift (literally) with the tides of my mind. I can get completely self absorbed into a mini-trip that way...and then I just drift into sleep, and awake feeling GREAT!

^^^

thats EXACTLY what I do at the tail end of a MDMA night....drifting into your own mind is a good way to put it...music is so perfect and you feel amazing...

One time while high on mushrooms i did some mdma and smoked some hash...after the hash i remember my reality going sideways with eyeballs everywhere looking at me and the proportions of my room stretching in dimensions i never thought possible...and staring into the wall revealed realities i never before saw there...anything is possible really.. i doubt the hash was laced..hash is after all an extract

The trippy effects were most likelyfrom the E, not the weed. Weed thats laced with shit is more expensive and is rarely sold that way since the point of selling it is to make a profit.

It is shocking if you haven't experienced it before, but MDMA can be incredibly trippy. I have hallucinated incredible things on it, but only after smoking weed. There is an amazing synergy between the two drugs. I would never want to dose without having weed handy.

Another possibility is that the second pill you split contained something else, perhaps MDA (which is way trippier than MDMA), or even a bit of Ketamine or some such thing.

I'm inclined to go with wonderflosity. The degree of dissociation and visual fantasy seem a little too extreme for MDMA and Marijuana - but then everyone's mileage is different. A mix of stuff, perhaps including MDA and K sounds much more likely to be the culprit. Although most of the experience seemed to be rather interesting! I think if I knew whatever it was was going to cause such effects, I'd invest in a few for special occasions =D.
