Ecstasy and overheating

Studies show that MDMA dose not significantly raise body temperature
Perhaps you should have performed a simple search for MDMA + hyperthermia to confirm the findings in the one article you mention? Don't know if you have an academic background, but one article usually says nothing. I bet I could find an article finding no statistical significant risk of lung cancer in smokers if I tried hard enough. Anyhow, I found this very recent review LINK. Statistical significant and dose dependent raise in body temperature. With some pseudo-idiosyncratic cases that had an almost 2 degrees Celsius rise while sedentary the whole time (!!!).

The key is to stay hydrated, so if you do overheat, you will sweat. I have taken large doses of MDMA and monitored body temperature with a thermometer at home. As long as you stay below 100, you should be good.100.0 and up is worrisome. The highest I ever recorded was 99.5 I think and I was rolling face sweating profusely. Stay in a cool environment, in the 60's and low 70's. Stay away from places that are 75+ F

if you overheat - immediately go somewhere cool, ventilated, with a breezy draft. splash water, turn on a fan, stand next to an AC vent. drink a bottle of water. sit (or lay if really really hot) down

I agree with the concerns of mixing other amphetamines with MDMA. MDMA by itself- I will notice very little body temp differences. (When I tested it I went approximately .2 -> .3 degrees hotter during the rising action and quickly plateaued.)

However there are cases of overdoses on both Amp and MDMA that will leave one hospitalized due to uncontrollable overheating. It's all about controlling doses. A person more concerned with chasing the high rather than their own health will be more at risk.

Conclusion:
Water, rest and rational doses should be all one needs.

And not to be in a stuffy room full of ravers thats above 90 degrees F

I usually get hella colder on MDMA...

Like wearing 2 jackets wrapped up in a blanket
At lower doses for me also. At higher doses I sweat profusely and my pupils get humungous, my jaw shakes. Thats how you know when I'm rolling balls :D

(need to be in A/C to be rolling balls :D)

I find my roll to be much more intense if I'm warm. I've never gone to a rave, but when my friends and I have roll parties many of us are in sweatshirts. As long as I'm warm and sweating I'm very comfortable, but there was one occasion when I got far too hot for my own comfort(stopped sweating, still burning up) and had to take my shirt off and cool off outside for a bit. Sweating is a good thing, it's our bodies go-to means of cooling down. Although more sweating means you need to drink more water(and electrolytes).

Just a little side note. I find the cold absolutely kills my roll, anyone else? To be honest I prefer my environment around 75-80 degrees, but it should be noted that I'm not typically dancing or exerting myself all that much. Mostly just a puddle of love on the floor, smoking cigarettes, or bobbing my head.

yeah you might be right, I dont remember it happening after I started rolling every week, but that was around the time the pill scene turned to shit

Oh yeah, also everyone who rolls on a regular basis should definitely buy a misty mate! Fill it with ice water, pump it up. it sprays super fine mist. small easy to carry. Cools you off and dries quickly. you can also make the spray scented :0

And when you feel cold that is just a sign of hyperthermia(like having a fever when you are sick). Don't bundle, don't make yourself uncomfortable either, just cover up in something light and flowy.
