I have been abusing ecstsay for over 3 years and have had a significant loss in both short-term and long-term memory.

well there were certainly periods of time where i used it frequently and slightly excessively.. however, i still consider myself to be a recreational user only... i have a terrible memory to start which i blame on smoking a lot of weed.... theres so many factors!!!

ive used an dhave pretty abd memory problems...im not sure if its from E tho...could be from weed...

memory gets bad after use and obviously it has an effect but low levels of serotonin are linked to decreased memory and i find that when i get back to normal levels of happiness after a week or two the memory returns as well.

Same for me.

I don't suspect that it's caused me permanent damage, but I don't know. And it would be hard to do a controlled study.

However, I would say just under half the times I've done it I have had very frustrating loss of short term memory and feeling like I can't make proper sentences or find words. I suspect this is partially because of the contrast of the state I was in where speech comes so easy - and partially because of the chemical state of your brain. Any thoughts?

Although my abuse wasn't as bad as some, if I take a 6 month break the magic is mostly back. That said I've never taken a break longer than 6 months so maybe an even longer break would give my serotonin system time to rebuild itself completely.

I think that its normal for your first time to seem the best. I am fairly sure that after one month your serotonin is fully back to normal so by six months, it has to be. I believe that if it seems to have less effect it is more the psychological effect.

d. I have abused ecstasy and have memory problems
been using mdma for a little over 3 years now, every weekend (on and off) and I've noticed a huge impact on my short term memory, which seemed to come on very gradually around 6 months from first trying it.
i do however smoke a lot of hyds & take the odd benzo

ive used ecstasy about 40 times or more, memory is about the same, no difference. I am still quick....

abused , probably some memory loss. short term is worse than what i used to be, but still in an acceptable level i'd say. im not a complete e-tard yet.

When I was seriously abusing ecstasy I had short term memory problems that probably lasted at least a month after I slowed my roll. For example, I would have conversations with friends where I asked them a series of questions then would repeat the same questions several times through out the day; not realizing I already had the conversation with them earlier. I was probably rolling about 4-5 days per week for many months on end, though... it seems to have mostly repaired its self by now.
