I put D,
I've noticed my memory went to shit after abusing mdma:\
But to be honest a good time off (year or a little more) can do wonders in restoring your brain from the way you used to treat it.:)

I've forgotten portions of the night while on but my memory hasn't been affected at all in terms of long term, short term while straight.

I know after I go on a 3 pill binge at a rave, my memory is fried for at least a month...MDMA DEF makes you "brain dead". But if its a speedy pill the effects are always 1000x worse, probably due to neuron damage caused by neurotoxicity. I DEF notice a serious decrease in vocabulary and old memories from childhood and such. Just gone...maybe forever? Look at the way people type and make errors on this website. You can tell that the majority of us are just burned out X heads or will be burned out eventually.

While I think this is a good idea, unfortunately I dont have the means to answer truthfully, at least the way I think the OP wants me to answer. In order to tell for sure whether mdma has caused one memory problems, certain tests and such must be done before one starts using mdma, and of course this isn't something I can't do.
I'll vote the last one because both of those things are true for me. What I want to make clear is that I'm not voting for any connection between the two though.
My memory is not all it should be and this is a problem I've had before I started using mdma. Mdma certainly could've made this worse, but as I said I dont have the means to test this. :\

i have only used half a dozen times, but i would definatley say that my memory was enhanced for a couple of days afterwards.....i also never experienced any comedown even though i didn't sleep for 48 hours....i actually felt great and wished i had more!!

memory gets bad after use and obviously it has an effect but low levels of serotonin are linked to decreased memory and i find that when i get back to normal levels of happiness after a week or two the memory returns as well.

a bigger problem for me is short term loss of patience. i find i can get very aggressive way too quick and as i have little patience anyway i find this way more negative of an effect than a decreased memory. the mood is okay on a comedown but when someone says something to me i dont like i mouth off very badly. bear in mind i have a job with high levels of frustration and dealing with huge volumes of people everyday and unsociable hours.

I abused it to hell and back, and now have an appauling short term memory, got alot better than it was though, i know people who are litearlly e-tards cause of it though, with memorys like holes.

I abused e pretty badly in college. In fact, it was almost like 2 years of rolling every day it seems.

My memory has decreased, I think. I seem to forget things more easily now. I seem to struggle to find words when i'm speaking at times (I speak in public a lot, so it's noticeable... to myself at least).

This could be contributed to a lot of things. My pills were very regularly full of meth. Other drugs were going on in there, too, but e was definately the choice... Stress is a factor now. I'm not sleeping as much. I'm not exercising as much. And probably most importantly, I'm not using my brain as much as I did in college.

I voted D.

i'm conflicted. i would say "yes" but i wonder if it's just the standard aging process coupled with increased work/life balance stressors and all the distraction of living in this fucked up consumer society. i mean, i'm not the only dumb ass out there who hesitates and second guesses everything. and those people don't even use drugs...

a few years ago i was sharp as a tack. i couldn't fathom dumb ass, confused bitches. now i've seemingly joined their ranks...

but i've stopped abusing ecstasy. so we shall soon see...

Im not asking weather or not you think mdma caused your memory problems. My question is do you have memory problems and to what extent did you use ecstasy.

When I first made this poll it had like 8 answers. I tried to add in factors like other drugs used, or pre-existing conditions but in the end it was too complicated, so I stuck to a more simple approach. It may not be perfect but I think its the best we can do on a forum like this.

I have no permanent memory issues from Ecstasy use - but I do have memory problems the week following it's use.

very well then: yes. i abused ecstasy for 2 years other assorted drugs a total 8 years). only short term memory seems affected...

I've used ecstasy three times, with a few months in between, so I think that certainly counts as "use" and not "abuse."

My short and long term memory is fine, however I've noticed i'm not as articulate as I used to be / have slight problems with verbal memory. This could be down to alcohol or weed, which i've used a whole lot more, and my "noticing" of it could also be a complete placebo.

I've borderline abused it, and yes, I have noticed short term memory loss. For about a week afterwards, I really have to try and concentrate, or my mind goes way off course in a matter of minutes.

But, after about 2-3 weeks, everything seems back to normal.
