I was never a hard taking E person but around 4 month ago on a holiday i went on a trip and during that trip a went on a 4 day straight rolling session. took around 15 to 20 pills.

to make a long story short a week after I came back from my trip my skin started to look kinda of yellow. I went to the doctor and he said i had jaundice (liver infection) didn't prescribe me any meds but told me I had to take it easy for the next month or so and my liver would recover its self.

my question is: has any one every seen ecstasy and liver related problems? what did they do? in my case since it has already been more then 4 months I wanted to know if it would be safe to roll again. OBVIOUSLY not on any crazy dosage like last time.

THOUGHTS??

some individuals are very poor metabolisers of MDMA, this is a recognised problem.

did you test your pills? nevertheless, if your liver is sensitive to amphetamines i'd recommend you steer clear of md and speed. if you must indulge,(which i honestly don't think you should) don't take more than 2 pills and if you feel very weak and nauseous in the following week, i'm afraid these sort of drugs aren't for you.

Hi risadinha my question is did you test the product you ingested at all? What I have read is that liver toxicity is caused by the bzp ( benzylpiperazines) in the ecstasy pills that are being sold.

I will move this thread to mdma and emphatogenic drugs discussion as it is a better fit for that forum.

Jaundice is not necessarily caused by an infection, it just means decreased liver function. You can get jaundice from extreme drug abuse. Acute jaundice from infection has a very bright quality in the eyes and skin, and is more obvious. Jaundice due to decreased liver function on its own will come on more gradually and have a more dull quality.

Did you disclose to your doctor all the E that you did? 15-20 pills for 4 days is a LOT... no doubt your body went through a lot of stress.

Best way to build your liver back up is nutritionally. Beets are probably the best thing for it, especially the freshly squeezed juice. Cooked beets have no value for this purpose. Eating plenty of leafy greens, sprouts, etc. will help. Avoid greasy food or anything with synthetic ingredients because they will pose a burden to your liver.

Burdock, milk thistle and dandelion are good liver herbs, but look at nutrition first before you take herbs.

If you still have jaundice or decreased liver function (confirmed by blood test) then doing more E is out of the question.

Something similar happened to my son when he binged on "molly" early in September. They did blood work at the hospital last week and learned that his liver enzymes were highly elevated. So if you're jaundiced after 4 months, I would stay away from these drugs and be kind to your liver.

Badrobot is right, there are certain people who either don't produce the liver enzyme to break down MDMA, or who produce much less of it than most people. The ones who lack the enzyme are the people who die after taking it for the first time (thankfully very rare, but it's out there).

However, because you pretty much took ten times the standard dose as someone tends to take in the course of a week, you could be one who produces SLIGHTLY less of the enzyme but then overloaded your liver. Everything passes through the liver on its way out, and the toxic byproducts of the breakdown probably built up, killing liver tissue in the process. Luckily, if it's a one-off thing, livers are very good at regenerating :) If you keep it at a normal dose, like 2 pills over the course of a night give or take, I would expect you would be fine. If you had ended up hospitalized after taking 20 pills, I wouldn't risk it, but since it was not a SUPER serious reaction to a huge number of pills (serious meaning long-term damage that requires a lot of treatment), I'd guess that your reaction to a significantly smaller number of pills would be normal!

Stay safe and have fun!

*Calderone- I think he returned from his trip and was jaundiced at that point 4 months ago, but is back to normal now! If you were still jaundiced I would DEFINITELY say never roll again!

Yes, questforstarfish! your right, I came back from the trip with jaundice, stayed in the hospital two days to see if my liver enzymes were coming down or still going up!! Since they were coming down the doctors said I was ok but needed to take it easy!!
Since it has been for months I wanted to know if it is ok to roll again but obviously on a little dosage!

Is there any thing I can take to protect my liver while rolling? or even to generate theses enzymes that breakdown the MDMA???
thanks for the answer, VERY HELPFUL!!!

I take milk thistle, there's lots of studies that show it helps protect and repair damaged livers. So that's an option.

I usually take it right before I drink and right after, same with mdma. I usually take a little more before I do mdma because i feel it's hard on the liver.
