My friend is currently on prozac (20mg) daily for some anxiety and mild depression issues and is on about taking some ecstasy from a friend of his which he says is mostly pure and about 125mg, plus plans on drinking a bottle of wine to have an evening where he isn't anxious and crying. Told him that none of it makes sense since alcohol might only depress him more and doesn't prozac interrupt MDMA anyway?

Anyway, he is planning on going ahead anyway regardless and I am just wondering does anyone know of any danger in this mixture? Can't seem to find anything online and would love to know what to look out for specifically and what might happen to him as I intend to stay with him to make sure he's not alone just in case...

I agree with Blank. While as far as we know it isn't dangerous or doesn't cause damage (that isn't even sure since MDMA hasn't been yet fully researched) his roll will be severely, probably even fully, muted. It's going to be a waste of MDMA I think. 20mg isn't exactly a high dose, it's a low one even, but still I am almost certain it is going to impact his roll. It's also possible he will be more depressed afterwards yes, some people react this way whatever dose they take. Others have an afterglow if they take care not to take too much. There's no telling how he will react afterwards. Don't combine with alcohol, that's asking for trouble, there are enough drugs already in his system when he decides to drop MDMA, no need to add another one. 2-3 beers can't hurt, but he shouldn't get drunk or anything, sober is best even

Also, any drug that exhibits MAOI properties can be very dangerous when combined with an SSRI. For instance PMA, often found pills/crystals sold as MDMA, has MAOI properties (and it also releases serotonin, really fucked up chemical this is), which could be lethal when taken together with an SSRI. So if he really wants to go ahead with it, against advice, it is hugely important that he tests his drugs, there is no way around this, if he doesn't he is taking a big risk with his health. Adding (untested) prefix

*edit* erowid article in case you want to read some research about MDMA + SSRI's and here is a comprehensive bluelight post outlining the different combinations of MDMA + anti-depressants

Do NOT let me take all those together. I've even had back reactions with my SSRI and alcohol. 2 weeks is the minimum cleaning period for getting off an SSRI before taking Molly. It's not even worth it.
