ecstacy "experts"

argh.. look they are great photos, but i doubt there is anyone in the world who can tell you more than we can (but i'm willing to listen). reagent tests are very limited in the analytical ability. they are indicative of what might be in a pill, not definitve.
the only way to know for sure is to send it into dancesafe and have them laboratory test it. even if you are not doing it for yourself, do it for others as you came out ok, but if we could identify a batch that had something very harmful in it we might be able to save lives, people who might not be as lucky as you are.
people send in pills every week to dancesafe and i know of no one who has ever been prosecuted for it. and is the ten or so bucks you paid for it really going to break the bank? i'll even pay you for it if you are going to be that worried about it.
just be thankful that you live in a country where you can send in pills for analysis. i don't.

After some MORE research, this is what I found.
DXM is a cough suppressant that in high doses acts as a dissociative similar to ketamine. High doses can cause nausea, itchy skin, visual and audial hallucinations, loss of motor control, and will make you feel very stoned and "out of it." Most people don't like the way it makes them feel, but some people do. People who use DXM recreationally for its dissociative effect usually do so at home, where it is safe and they can relax. It does not produce energy, and makes it rather difficult and undesirable to dance.
I felt very out of it and my girlfriend puked (which is not uncommon when we do e, which is why i was not alarmed). I also found this on dancesafe. The same exact pill.
Coco Chanel ('Triple-stacked') 8.0 x 5.0 302mg
Dallas, TX
September, 2001 DXM (90.9%)
Ephedrine/Pseudoephedrine (9.1%)
I am almost positive, this is what I got.

So lets get this straight, you tested a pink pill which was pink and had pink dye on it and when the reagent was added to it, it went pink before going darker.
Hmmmmmmmm I wonder why it went pink.

No, it is a light purple pill. I posted this pill on pill reports and someone else from Boston wrote me and said they had the same exact pill. I hate to be so descriptive. When I took the pills, I got really bad Diarrhea and had stomach pains for 3 days. I still have them as a matter of fact. They are minor, but every hour or so i get a sharp little pain. Under the description for DXM. This is what I found
"Nausea and other unpleasant gastro-intestinal effects are common and may persist for days after use"
creative dreamlike experiences
visual and aural hallucinations
confusion, disorientation
A high dose will cause you to feel very spacey and "out of it," and you may lose motor control (your legs may feel wobbly
that is EXACTLY how I felt.

so now it's not heroin? so what's with the pink colour then? maybe this is a slightly different batch to the ones that dancesafe originally tested. the only way you are going to know is to send it in for testing. please, i beg you, send it in. those reagent test results are just too worrying. i admit that there is some yellow in the Mecke reaction, which could be DXM, but there are still other colours that are unexplained.

Please send it in to be tested bostonboi, all pills that give strange test results need to be sent in for official analysis. Don't you want to know what chemicals you are swallowing?
I have no idea how they manufacture dxm, but using cold or flu medicine which also contains codeine would produce a test result like the one you got.
Probably irrelavent, but fyi ages ago I had green chanels which tested positive for mdxx using marquis test, but effects were suspected dxm.

In some cases it is possible that may get a positive result for a certain substance when tested. Just because they've been in the same baggie...
There has been exactly one pill (out of literally 10000s tested by DIMS) that contained traces of heroin. Probably because it had been stored with some heroin.
Also, Guanefasin (or whatever it is called) can be mistaken for a heroin like reaction.

Well there have been a few pills recently that have changed colour when added to moisture, a few of these have gone pink and seeing as there are some similar pills that were pink perhaps these pills actually had some pink dye in them somewhere and this came out?!

bostonboi:
you say you do not want to send it in, cause of waste of money, and afraid to send through the mail.....ummmm say what?
not to be rude, but did you spend that much on them to where you cannot send one in? i know the postage only cost about 1.50$
c'mon man....look i could go on and on and on, about testing your own pills, i do myself. but you know even if i test it myself, and take it myself.....but i still do not feel quit right, i send it in!
ecstasydate.org is there for a reason. no offence to you but by you going on and on about first it was herion and now it is DXM....i am not buying any of it. you say you are still having the shits and sharp pains, do you think this is normal?
how about all of us who think we want you to send the dame thing in, we will all give you a $1. :)
chanel------ecstasydata.org
why don't you check that out! now none of us would of known anything about these if someone had not sent them in.....maybe is this what you have?

The test you did with the Mecke substance - does that not look remarkably like a flash of yellow to start with - suggesting that the pill may (as Bostonboi suggests) actually contain DXM?

like i said before: "i admit that there is some yellow in the Mecke reaction, which could be DXM, but there are still other colours that are unexplained."
bostonboi: if you are happy, then we are happy. still think you would be doing eveyone a favour by sending it in, but obviously you have your mind made up.
next time perhaps it will be best to not start threads with a smart arse tone, sometimes we all can get it wrong ;)

Note: If the reagent turns a violet color (reddish-purple, not bluish-purple) within 20 seconds, this may indicate the presence of an opiate drug, such as codeine, although it could be something else.

The people who make the most outrageous claims about pills never can seem to be bothered sending one in. Often, their pathetic excuse is that the pills which they claimed were "all over the place" suddenly become rarer than hen's teeth. In this guy's case, we'll never see one because the poster is afraid of being proved wrong. DS is polluted with these weasels as well.
