Eating while high, kills high?

I'm a pretty fast eater, I can eat a full meal in 15 minutes tops, so I don't think the time you take to eat has that much of a factor. I think Curiosity hit the nail right on the head

eating while high absolutely does reduce your high. think of your body like a factory... whenever you eat, your body redirects its energies towards digestion. this, in turn, contributes to the reduction of your high. when you are on an empty stomach, your body is at its optimized state, which is the best time to be under the influence of thc. you can also think about it this way.. after you smoke, thc is surging through your blood stream. but when you eat, you are basically forcing it out to be extracted into your fat cells at a faster rate. no sources needed, this is just common sense for the most part.

however, i think that drinking orange juice while stoned can have a synergistic effect on the high. sodas with caffeine as well.

I might not be a subject matter expert on 99% of the stuff on here but when it come's to the ways of the sweet leaf. I am a walking wikipedia.

The ideal scenario.

1. Smoke quick bong rips of dank sticky. Not only will you not be properly stoned until you get to you destination, so you can maintain for a minute.

2. Whatever kind of snacker you are; have at it. 4 apple pies from mcds, 4 chicken meals from swiss chalet, ice cream at ted drewes, italian beef at als in chi, no matter what your poison is chow down.

3. The food you ate just helped the body bring back up your bloodsugar but you head is still stoned. That's when you feel like your body is wanting to do something but you can't stop yawning.

4. Get stoned. hella stoned. again. and it will be far better than not smoking, then eating, then not smoking, or any there within.

FunBoy "If you can't help someone, at least don't harm em."

Didn't realise what you thought, turned out to be fact. Way to discredit a good post.

I've noticed an acute decrease in in my high if I consume loads of sugar. I'm still working on why this is happening, but it has an effect.

I avoid munching out on sweets while high.

Well I've alway gotten the impression that it does bring you down somewhat but it always depended on how much I eat. If I have a candy bar I'm still just as baked but if I get real stoned and go out to eat and stuff myself I feel like a bloated whale and want to sit down, lie down, go to sleep. Its a much more tired full feeling then being stoned. Of course when I eat that much and am full of food/uncomfortable I just go smoke more weed and feel much better.

Look at what your endocannabinoid system is used for. Sleep, appetite, etc. When you smoke, that's a good deal of the reason why you get hungry. Normally, when you eat, it's because you are hungry, and your endogenous systems are requesting food. When you've had your fill, this system stops making you hungry by removing the pleasure from eating; taking away the endocannabinoid.

So if you simulate this hunger, with an exocannabinoid, and then go ahead and eat, you'll get the same result, your body will try to go to baseline because it knows it is full.

It's not blood sugar, or stomach contents, or amount eaten, it's simply your body, acting like all animal bodies do, and stopping you from eating yourself to death.

So your saying if you eat ANYTHING you'll kill your high? I'm gonna have to call shenanigans cause if I eat a bag of chips or something small I'm still really high...as many people have said on this thread.

Sources?

No, I don't mean it'll happen from a little bit of food.

It takes filling the stomach to a certain degree to really cause it to happen.

I'm sorry, I should have put that it was a combination of the factors I mentioned, amongst others, that cause this. Of course small amounts of food wouldn't cause the "stoned" feeling to go away. But the more you eat the more your stomach will be sending messages to your brain that it is full and for the brain to pull it together and remove the chemical incentive to eat (pleasure, like our own cannabinoids).

There's an easy and obvious solution to this. Smoke, eat, then smoke more. It's not rocket science people.. xD

I agree that eating while stoned diminishes it. This is obviously just speculation as I have no scientific evidence to back this up, but I know it's not just placebo. If this many people agree then obviously there is at least SOMETHING to it. But like I said, smoke after you eat and you'll stay stoned.

Eating while high reduces my high, the more I eat, the lower I go.

Drinking cofee or orange juice can increase my high tho.

yea its more or less deep thought rather than common sense, saying that was kind of stupid of me. i guess my knowledge on how the body operates makes it seem more like common sense to me, but not to others.

Questioonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn:

Why is an empty stomach "the optimized state" for the body to be at? My common sense tells me that an empty stomach results in hunger pangs, stomach shrinkage and general irritability, which seems to me to be on the opposite end of the spectrum from "optimal."

Fuck, man, I need to stop with the tangential questions.

I remember a thread much like this a while back that ended up being two people calling each other names spouting off BS without any decent sources.... so let's not let this turn into that, alight? As long as it stays civil I don't see why we can't get anyone to chime in with some actual studies or theories about it. Lets not let it get closed over personal matters, thats what happened last time.

And for the record, skimming across a line saying "sources don't matter" did make me smirk. They certainly do.

My cat and the neighbours cat got high from my fumes, went and chowed on some Felix, and said they felt alot less stoned.

But what happens if you eat weed on your pizza? Ultimate paradox.
