Eating while high, kills high?

I almost always eat a bunch after smoking. Delicious.

I've never noticed it harming my high at all. Have you guys considered that you might just take time eating and then you're less high because time has passed?

My cat and the neighbours cat got high from my fumes, went and chowed on some Felix, and said they felt alot less stoned.

But what happens if you eat weed on your pizza? Ultimate paradox.

Weed-infused pizza sauce for the mother fucking win.

You know what takes the win right out from underneath the weed-infused pizza sauce, though? Psylocybin mushroom toppings. And while typing this I had an amazing lightbulb moment of a weed-infused pizza sauce AND psylocybin mushroom toppings. That combo sounds like a must for To-Do list.

eating while high absolutely does reduce your high. think of your body like a factory... whenever you eat, your body redirects its energies towards digestion. this, in turn, contributes to the reduction of your high. when you are on an empty stomach, your body is at its optimized state, which is the best time to be under the influence of thc. you can also think about it this way.. after you smoke, thc is surging through your blood stream. but when you eat, you are basically forcing it out to be extracted into your fat cells at a faster rate. no sources needed, this is just common sense for the most part.
That is not common sense, that is pure bullshit dressed up in vaguely scientific language. Your body is not "directing energy" towards being high, the subjective effects are a result of agonism of CB1 receptors. If anything, according to your theory, eating should prolong the high, as your body reallocates the resources used for metabolism from the drug to the food. "optimised state" is a fuzzy concept I just don't understand, and which is totally disproved by evidence (many opiates are stronger if taken after consumption of a fatty meal). THC in your blood stream is not what is getting you high, it's the THC in your brain; and where, pray tell, is it being forced out of the blood to? I could go on, but I can't be bothered.

yes, but the fact that your bodies energy is being consumed whenever you eat by digestion, is enough to have influence on the chemicals(thc/cannabinoids) you put in however long before you ate. since the body directs its inner energies to digestion can definitely bring down your high. and i really feel that the ideal time to get high, for example if youre trying to get high from a small amount and want maximum potency and effect out of it, is while youre on an empty stomach. fuck the common sense thing i threw out there, thats not really what i meant.. this is just me using some of my not even extensive knowledge on the body to figure something out, that is how i answered this question.. and in my eyes, some of my ideas are most definitely reputable. oh and smoking marijuana does have an impact on metabolism boost more than it doesnt. if anything you will get a slight boost in metabolism, just about any drug will do that and make you lose weight, but not so much with weed. weed will just keep you from gaining weight, and if you want to remain your weight and not put on any then smoking weed can keep you at that balance.

ok no more needs to be said.

As someone said above, I think it's time. I used to feel like whatever i did after smoking made me not high anymore. I realized it was because I was coming down by that time. Weed high last about 45 minutes to an hour. If you smoke and take the time to eat something, your not going to be that high anymore by the time your done eating.

I'd like to point out that when I'm high I can devour an entire meal in under 10mins (and still be full). I don't think that 10mins plays a significant role in reducing my high to the extent that I would notice it actually reduced. If that makes sense.

^^So true, i eat like a champ when im baked.

Questioonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn:

Why is an empty stomach "the optimized state" for the body to be at? My common sense tells me that an empty stomach results in hunger pangs, stomach shrinkage and general irritability, which seems to me to be on the opposite end of the spectrum from "optimal."

i dont know whether this is the correct answer to your question, but i know when your hungry your brain works more sharply, due to the need to hunt for food back in ancient times. once the body has eaten your brain slows down and you tend to get tired because your brain has relaxed and is less alert

yeah just dont mix it up with the regular mushroom pizza. could make for an interesting afternoon if you accidentaly brought shroom-weed pizza to work/school for lunch

I think it is because when you eat food your body is using more energy to process and digest it than it is working on getting the THC to your brain.

half the damn fun of being seriously stoned is pigging out on some good food. You just feel satisfied afterward.

Think about it this way - you peak about 15 minutes after you smoke - which is probably when you're eating. Once you finish eating, you're already coming down from when you smoked, unless you take hits between or eat mad fast. You also feel satisfied because you filled a craving. How high you get does not matter on how much food you have in your system when inhaled.

There was a thread about 3 months back that game to this conclusion, or some modified version it. I suggest giving the search engine a try.

Yea but I don't think 15 minutes is long enough to feel a noticeable difference.

Certainly is to me.

for now, OP, unless you can rephrase your question into the form of one that hasn't been asked a handful of times over the past 6 months, I'll gladly reopen it - just PM me. use the Search engine first, because if you claim you can't find answered based off your searches and I find them, then it's just annoying :)
