I recently got my hands on a single Oxycontin 40. Normally I'd weasle around the time release formula, but unfortunately Purdue has made it clear this isn't the route we should be taking. I've never popped a pill with the extended release properties intact so I'm attempting to make the best of it.

For starters I have a fairly low tolerance, I haven't taken a high dose of opiates in a really long time so 40 mg should achieve me cloud 9. From what I understand, 1/3 of the drug is released within an hour, while the remaining 2/3 is gradually released over the next 11 or so hours. To ensure the most enjoyable and lengthy high as possible, I was curious about eating food on it. Clearly I'd prefer to eat in a 12 hour period, but would that interfere with the overall absorbtion rate? I know that with instant release eating isn't advised until a couple hours into the high (if you take the pill by mouth).

How did you go? I just got the new formula oxycontin today but I normally get a generic brand so haven't had to worry about this abuse proof formula. I'm wondering how to take mine now. I'm wondering if I should take more then my regular dose because I can't chew them before swallowing like I normally do.
