cutting things short:
lets say you test a scrap from a pill and the tester is less than a month old, ideal testing conditions. you get a bright green reaction.
i assume this is 2cb as per the color chart.
correct?
ok, what if you get the SAME reaction from testing a pill ALONG with the usual purple then black reaction. this is from a scrapping of the pill from its outer edges...
i would then assume that the pill contains mdma/mdea(it tested negative to mda) and 2cb.
how valid would my assumption be?

Are the two pills the same? Is this using the standard marquis reagent?
There could be logically a few of reasons.
1. The second pill is a combo 2Csomething and MDXX (unlikely, but still possible - hell anything is possible)
2. The second pill was stored with/in a baggie that has had/come into contact with, a pill that is MDMA and there is a contamination of the sample .You don't need much MDxx at all to get a reaction. (Most likely reason)
3. The lip of the reagent bottle has come into contact with the previous test and is now contaminated.
 
some more evidence:
the one that gave the green reaction was from a batch of 10, all tested gave same reaction.
these 10 were kept seperate of others.
and sometimes test was done with scraps from the middle of the pill.
so i guess this batch in particular is def containing 2cb or 2cXXX?
also reagent bottle was cleaned on every use, and one of the times was used to test a different pill before the one with 2cb and gave normal purple/black reaction and no green.

actually it wouldn't be 2xxxx, it would only be 2CB, DOM or DOB. 2CT7 and 2CT2 dont give this reaction to Marquis. if anything they give a pale salmon.
mixed reactions like this most often fall into the "maybe" category.
