Im very biased to the east coast....I have lived in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida....ive visited the west coast a time or too but theres something about liven on the east coast that just has a Fun, Laid Back feeling to it....where Im at in florida...there is world class fishing rite here in my town of Destin, FL...Great hunting just minutes North of the beach...high quality drugs are all over the state and lots of users like myself that hangout in huge groups because we all grew up together...Beach days...partying on crab island...hustling the tourist....all the jobs here are usiually seasonal and pay very well but are only for 5 months out of the year....we have mild winters....rarely gets down into the 20s....very hot and humid doring the summers.....LOTS of half naked females kicken it and getten drunk on the beach.....its home an I love it

Plus you got Kenny Fucking Powers.

I moved from west coast to east and I like it better here (east) BUT I miss the northwest a lot sometimes. I don't miss bth/sketchy connects that usually insist on picking you up and driving around with you in the backseat while you deal your deals, and I don't miss some stanky west coast attitudes, I miss my favorite bars and cigarettes being under $6... and not freezing my ass off while waiting for the bus hah. Oh and also minimum wage being $ 9/hr I REALLY miss that! Especially since cost of living is not lower here + people tip better in the NW and that was basically my $ for not rent things..

I guess I wouldn't really call people around here relaxed. People from the west coast a lot of times just think there's no where better on earth. And the passive agressives stress me out.

East coast all the way.

I prefer east coast sports, food, drugs, people, weather (yeah I like seasons), attitude, ect. The pothead in me does <3 the west coast though, they really do pot a lot better than us.

after driving cros country twice, driving all the way down the eastern seaboard, i gotta say, even as much beauty there is in other states, spec colorado, cali, nevada, nothing feels like home the way an ec city does. wheter bmore or philly or nyc, it just doesnt feel right without blazing hot summers, freezing winters, humid spring, and perfect falls. factor in everything else and by far the east coast wins it for me, hands down. i thought i was going to love cali and not want to leave, turned out to be quite the opposite. after a few days i was ready to go back home. one of most scenic places i saw on the trip was a tiny little town called silverthorne in CO right off i70. beautiful. high end shops, great food, horse farms, beuatiful mountains. im sure it must cost a small fortune to live there, but if i had immense fundage id buy a little mountain cabin and take up snowboarding or skiing.

^Not having seasons is a major reason I get easily burned out on the NW. We have the most beautiful summers, dry, sun, perfect temp, but they don't start until early july and 8 months of gloomy is way to much for a cynical person... by the time it hits May I'm deep into a nice serving of depression and drug abuse.

^i love snow(mainly for skiiing and snowmobile puprposes) and I am a cold weather person, but the lack of sunlight does get to me, too. I do make sure to take a vit d3 supplement most days in the Winter months. Temperature wise I would rather =<10 degrees F than >=90+ degrees F. But when there are times when the Sun doesn't shine for weeks it can be gloomy. I remember one December in I think '08 where we went most the month with no sun showing. I also was working an 8-5 office job that I hated(mostly cause the co-workers sucked, as I have found that is the biggest issue with me enjoying my job) and I think it contributed highly to me ending up in a real bad place mentally.

Also being in Mass there is no real benefit to snow where I live, I just want lots of snow to fall in the New Hampshire and Maine skiing/snowmobiling areas. Last year was tiring when 3 straight weekends there was large snowstorms, on top of working about 56-64 hours a week it was too much. SO much shoveling, it sucks to get around and the traffic gets worse, at least I drive a AWD car so I can get around when the streets are bad.

Oh, and I've never been to the West coast, sadly, so I can't offer my opinion about it. But to generalize East and West coast is a bit vague. There is a big difference from Boston and Miami or Seattle and LA.

RT, I know the feeling! I am also in Mass now, from Portland, OR. At first I thought the snow was really beautiful since Portland has a significant snow maybe once every three years. now I see it's a pretty big pain in the ass to get around in.. But yeah it's really hard to generalize there are things I really like about both places. Where in mass are you?
