Easiest/Most difficult psychedelic to handle

I guess they do have automatic ones for home now. I was trying to picture someone stoned trying to operate a sphygmomonometer (classy word there) with a stethescope and squeeze bladder and hearing his heart talk back.
Haha, yeah that would be a little less practical, I actually wasn't aware of the existence of those things until I googled that word, but automatic blood pressure monitors are fairly cheap now and I think having some kind of objective way to measure your vitals should be basic harm reduction, especially for people who like to take weird and relatively new substances alone. :) Even with company I try to get people into the idea and it's usually a point of interest for a while with people wanting to check their vitals and stuff, but I haven't managed to convince any of my other drug using friends of the benefits of getting one for themselves.

I would like to get more equipment but actually there isn't much else I can think of that is practical or affordable for home use. I've been looking into getting some sort of home EEG kit too but I'm not convinced yet of the accuracy of any commercial devices currently available.

...Admittedly also that might be less harm reduction and more just scientific curiousity since it's arguable if an EEG could tell you anything useful during a difficult trip.

I'd forget about the EEG, even MRI scans are pretty controversial for interpreting psychology rather than organic medical issues.

Problem is, you start checking vitals while tripping you risk starting panic feed-back. You see your BP up, worry, raise it further. Although I guess if you think your LSA is causing catastrophic vasoconstriction cause you read it somewhere and your feet tingle, this might help to show you're OK.

But then, I'm diabetic, and for adrenergic agents, I should really be checking my sugar (agonists raise it), but I didn't check it once during daily meth use out of fear. Short version: A1C up an entire point, despite losing twenty pounds and barely eating.

So some of those stimulating psychs could use a sugar monitoring.

Sorry to be OT, nevertheless... MDMA will always be a psychedelic drug (mind expanding drug). Having said that, there are many thing that distinguish empatheogens or entactogens from the classic psychedelic drugs.
Moreover, it was important for those early MDMA pioneers to distinguish MDMA therapy from psychedelic psychotherapy, which had been outlawed and was controversial regardless of the law.

No matter what, MDMA is clearly a mind expanding drug and can foster the same experiences of transcendence and oneness that LSD, and mescaline are known for.

Wait.. MDMA is a Psychedelic? I thought it was an Empathogen. Also you'd rate it medium difficultly when it comes to how to handle it. You must be crazy haha, MDMA is A LOT easier than weed to handle if you take into consideration that weed causes anxiety in many people whereas actual pure MDMA calms people down. I've not tripped a lot but I've rolled many times and for me I wouldn't say MDMA is anything like a psychedelic. I mean, colours look slightly brighter but that's about it.

.

We shouldn't worry too much about the semantics. Too much of anything can produce a psychedelic state after a while. Even a long alcohol bender eventually changes your awareness, and a meth binge definitely has subtle reflective tendencies, not to mention the state you enter after 72 hours without sleep. We tweekers might be hallucinating harder than some of you on psychedelics.

But if you take it to mean seeing things from an angle you didn't know existed, connections you didn't know to even consider, then never mind the glow around the lights, MDMA is certainly psychedelic. At least if you allow yourself that space.

Mainly I meant to agree with Sir MorningGlory, MDMA isn't pure "ecstasy" for everyone, and a hard, uncomfortable trip is possible, even if fairly brief. I think this may happen more when you do the at-home cuddle-fest parties, where it's fairly quiet, not a lot of raver stimulus, soft soul music and candles. It can get very intense if you're with close friends. And the sense of awe, that profound feeling of joining every human soul like you're in that X-men Cerebral thing, definitely compares to mushrooms, even if it doesn't quite reach as far. And so if something's happened, a loss of connection with someone close, an MDMA roll can knock you on your ass.

Anyway on-topic. I'm not an expert when it comes to psyches since I only tripped once and it was yesterday. But I have done a lot of research on them, I see most people say 2C-B is very easy to handle, and it was my substance of choice for my first time. I can say it is extremely easy to handle, at least for me it was. Visuals were amazing as well. I would recommend 18mg as a starting dosage also. What I done was 9mg at first then another 9mg 45 minutes later.
Psychedelic and hallucinogenic are two different terms although people tend to think the two are one in the same

People often think psychedelic is talking about the pretty colors. Psychedelic is the manifestation of the mind...or to expand the mind. The pretty colors are just a distraction, or the icing on the cake...depending upon your POV.

That's one thing I've learned, over the course of my psychedelic career I've found the visuals don't even matter, yeah they're cool and whatnot but its all internal

Don't asume empathogens are a guaranteed easy trip for everyone. I hate them personally, MDMA gives me a bad bodyload and headspace. Stimulants are not my kind of drugs except on low doses of gentler ones than MDx.

I always try to fight out what to me feels a fake love for everything. I can feel true love from classic psychedelics, but the MDMA high feels just a fake experience, and makes me unconfortable.

This is coming from an experienced psychonaut that usually mix high doses of lysergamides or tryptamines with dissos and had many good times taking MDMA each weekend for years (until I discovered true love from LSD), so don't asume anyone experienced will have a good time with the drug, I would rate it as a difficult one while lsd would be an easy one. We can't generalize here as all opinions are subjective.
