Lately i have been stuck in my own problems. I have lost sight of what is important. And it very likely would have stayed that way, until this morning. When i caught a glimpse of why i love life.
I was walking home, as always, sun coming up, people going to work, starting their days, and in a generally neutral state of mind. I got to a corner, and i heard laughter. I looked over, and saw a guy, no older than myself, with a little boy, about the age of 3 or 4. The guy was running around the yard, chasing the little boy, then picking him up, and promply falling over. Both the guy and the boy were laughing, pure laughter, happiness in sound form.
It hit me, what i have. In my life, i have been fortunate enough to have friends much like the guy. When i need them to, they chase me around, pick me back up, and make me laugh. They don't let me escape until i am happy again.
Too often i see the bad sides of human-kind. And i worry that i will someday be so jaded as to not see the simplistic side anymore. But moments like these always hit me right when i need them.
I see a lot of people, who lose track of what is good, who focus on the negative, drag themselves down under the weight of life. And i wish everyone could have moments like mine. Because there is nothing more than laughter. There is nothing more detrimental to our sanity than the simplicity of life at its most innocent.
This entire sequence of events reminded me of a quote, which i wanted to share with everyone, because i think at times such as these, where nothing seems to make sense, and everything seems to be going wrong, this thought alone can help.
I hope you all have a beautiful day, and i hope you all have a chance to laugh, and enjoy something simple.

here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
