I used to climb trees and wield a chainsaw on a daily basis, whilst wearing ear defenders. All the sweat, noise, heat and humidity made for some waxy ears and I experienced deafness in both ears over the course of two days.
Syringing was easy, pleasurable relief from the sudden deafness I had experienced and the colossal wax build-up which was almost unbelievable when I was invited to look in the bowl after treatment. It is like a visit to an aural hygienist who removes all this brown waxy gunk from out of your ears.
So, nothing to worry about, it's actually quite pleasant. Sensation is pain-free and there are no injections involved. Just a harmless jet of warm water.
However, something I would consider for immediately after the operation are some ear plugs, in case you have to walk by a noisy, busy road, especially if the road is wet, because prepare to be amazed, your sense of hearing will never be as good as when you leave that clinic!
