I had a packet of carrots, an onion, a pepper and a tub of tomatoes (must go shopping) - he wanted noodles - I wanted curry (surprise).

Halved the veggies - curried one half, made a 'soup' and added noodles to the second half :D.

My but what a resourceful bear you iz, Bear! 8o

Have just finished munching two (count 'em two) sarnies. Very small sarnies hence duo. One having roast chook 'n' mayo and t'other having Vintage Cornish Craggie (cheese of a somewhat Cheddarish variety) in it, innit. Bread being beetroot 'n' apple based and really very tasty indeed.

Exciting Update: Just had a salted caramel 'n' choc cookie suitably well-dunked in cuppa coffee. Izza nice biccy 8o

(as opposed to a nice biccy)

That sounds bloody marvellous, Bogman. Don't think I've ever really had a "proper" Irish stew. Am a big fan of stews in general though. Especially if dumplings are involved <3

Dins tonight consisted of midnight munchies storecupboard curry from t'other night wiv basmati and roast veg cous-cous (37p from the reduced section) and garlic and herb naan.

Hehe. Whoulda thunk it. Wonder if there's a set reduced price across the country for items other than cous-cous :?

And yes, they are a bit stingy. I got two (one left in fridge for last of curry tomorrow) but had rice and naan to go with. Dunno what they think they'd be good for otherwise, mind. Look like they're aimed at the office worker packed lunch type market.

Toblerone 'bits' (toblerone cut into bite size pieces individually wrapped and x3 times the price).

Was eating a first for me last night - was a 'blue' cheese but sort of a mix between Cambert and Gorgonzola. I bought a slice - was lovely wish I had got a bigger slice :D. Got another blue cheese for tonight - going to slice up a (nishi) pear, top with said cheese n grill it :).

Cheese jealousy. It never ceases to amaze me how cheese can smell so fucking vile but taste so nice at the same time. We spent ages over Christmas trying to figure out why the fridge smelled like it belonged to a serial killer and it turned out to be some cheese my Dad had bought. Was bloody lovely though.

Eaten too much today. speaking of cheese, been on the stilton, love that stinky stuff

Took me years before I could look a Stilton in the eye, Dan. Was when a fella brought a chunk of Stilton and a bottle of Port to a friend's house for Xmas one year I got the taste. Specifically, baked stuffed tomatoes woz wot dunnit. Stuffed with Stilton and breadcrumbs and herbs and stuffs. Yum <3

Stand-in dins consisted of...

... and I do believe that pic is virtually lifesize 8o

peanut butter and jam sarnie with frosted shreddies in the middle because why the fuck not

aldi 99p cheese and tomoato piza, but, with added fresh red onions, garlic, vine tomatoes, and green pepper. Id take a pic cos it actually looks quite good but i dunno where my camera is.

Some mushrooms and bacon bits would have really topped it off, maybe next time, too many toppings and i wont be able to eat it all at once, but i love cold piza any time of day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night snack.

disc(o)unt sunday today. discount cheese, ham and ketchup. what can i say, im lazy and depressed as work starts in the morn'

Had a so-called Ginster's so-called steak and so-called ale so-called pastie for dins (techinically breaksfast really) tonight. Tasted okay but am buggered if it tasted anything like a steak and ale pie. No gravy :(

In more interesting munch news, Co-Op were selling off loads of gammon joints at half price yesterday so treated meself to a plum, apple and sloe gin marinated/glazed lump o' pig''s arse. Still cost a fiver reduced which is a bit extravagant for me but smells bloody good I must admit. Just finishing off the glaze for last few mins of cooking so is all wafty and that. Actually smells rather like gingerbread oddly enough. Guess what I'll be eating all week 8)

Ginsters are horrible...Every product in their range tastes a little bit weird.

Don't buy these, guys. Despite what the packaging says, they're definitely not jaffa, and are no substitute for the real deal.

Imagine eating a pack of jaffa cakes you found from 1991, and you're in the right ball park.

they're definitely not jaffa,

You mean they are distinctly seedy then I presume? Or that they suckseed, perhaps?

In munching news, just had dins which primarily consisted of some of me aforementioned gammony goodness with lotsa mash and homemade gravy. Was the gravy that involved some actual cookery decisions. Had all-sorts in and was rather tasty. Ingredients included (but are not limited to)... the roasting juices (of which there was fuckloads - I clearly overcooked it as it's pretty dry... at least it is cold, once smothered in gravy and warmed through for a few moments in the microwave it was tender and juicy as anything - could virtually eat it with a spoon <3) along with some orange and mango juice, slosh of Scrumpy and black, dash of fig and balsamic sauce/dressing, couple cloves, tablespoon of muhumarra (rather pricey (but heavily reduced) red pepper dip, other stuff).

Picked up some rhubarb and custard cheesecake reduced to 82p earlier for pud later too :)

Stick em in the microwave for 5 secs

I'm not eating it; look at that abomination.

Hospital food. I hate you all and your luxury food items, including the Sainsbury's basics jaffa cakes. :(
