I'll probably pick up welding at some point, the old stick welder made out of three car batteries if nothing else, just because it's a useful skill to have. Can't be that hard to learn really, and you can always supplement your welds with hose clips if they suck. Or duct tape of course, which reminds me, I think I need to re-tape my shoe again. Bloody tape won't adhere to the upper layer worth a damn, does anyone know if they make duct tape that sticks to leather well? Maybe I should just switch to zip ties...

Punch it with the wonders of controlled electron flow and apply quickly before covering with a second (or more) layer(s). Van Der Waal would love you..
Alternatively: thinly spread PVA in the corners?

That could work, I only have araldite to hand and not PVA though, but it'll still probably work, right? Araldite is at least a little flexible IIRC.

You need a pneumatic staple gun - kept my para boots together for years.

We wanted to hire a mechanical engineer to come and work in a leading role within my mechanical team.

We encountered three main problems.

1. He (the candidate I had in mind had a willy) would require me to hire him four helpers to carry out his mechanical tasks.

2. He would not do any work himself, merely instruct.

3. He wanted ten grand a month and was only two years out of fucking school.

I hired three semi-competent mechanics instead for a total of 33% of what engineer kid wanted. Much better solution. I pirated the diagnostic software the engineer would have brung and we all lived happily ever after.

Sounds about right, the degree is a lot more about training you to sit in front of a computer than actually get your hands dirty IME. That guy sounds like a bit of a git too though.

Should have shot the cunt...

What drug? 3FPM?

Vortioxetine, it's an SNRI that also hits a bunch of 5-HT receptors directly and hits beta1 adrinergic. Mel was asking about interactions, I gave my best shot at working it out off wiki and the antidepressants thread on here, but I'd really appreciate if someone with a better knowledge of the field could give their opinion too.

Never heard of it. So many drugs out there. The pharmacology forum is probably where you would get answers on that one.

You were doing so well up to that point. If it had ended instead with ".... We used some Open Source software instead of the proprietary diagnostic software the engineer would have brought", you would have got maximum points. Using pirated software makes you every bit as dependent on the vendors as using paid-for proprietary software. But then, I suppose it's a case of catch as catch can, really ..... lofty ideals are all well and good, but you can't eat them .....

I dunno, I think vegans prove you can be sustained on nothing but a sense of self-righteousness : P
