EADD sandwich appreciation thread

Just had a mature cheddar, pickled onion and home-made chilli and onion sauce sandwich, was good :)

I love anything involving mozarella and nice tomatoes, basil is def a good extra :D halloumi and hummus sounds good too, I forgot how much I love feta, hummus, olive paste and salad %) Melted cheese is also amazing, can't beat a toastie. Melted brie is a particular fave!

I also love having random left overs in sarnies, chilli does work well but also had a variety of pasta dishes and potatoes.. might see what other random things I can get between two slices of bread this week. Soup for dinner tonight, not sure that would work :\

edit: cheese and beetroot is also a winner. Def a cheese theme going on :D

edit again: haha I'm getting a tad overenthusiastic I think.. ;)

Cheese and Cucumber sandwiches are a simple yet winning combination, especially in a crusty french roll.

Or Cheese, Pickle and salted crisp sandwiches, or Egg Mayo and salted crisps.

Salted crips are good with most sandwich fillings I find. :)

Again, simple flavours but bloody YUMMY!

My other half just introduced me to the joy of Sweet onion relish and cheddar cheese sandwiches.

LUSH! Still, I can't help but feel it could have done with some pickled onion as well.

Mmm pickled onion I love sucking the vinegar out of them and then finally crunching them lol.

I forgot to mention Cheese and Marmite YUM, and classic Chocolate spread sandwiches. *drools*

OOHHH Marmite, You just reminded me.

Runs off to the kitchen to get jar and spoon. It's nice to lick. I know it can't be good for me. Too much salt but lately I can't help it.

NO I'm NOT UP THE DUFF!

Ha! You sure about that, Sadie??? =D

Went to a different shop to usual today and found the best bargain cheese ever - 200g of really tasty mature Cheddar for 89p = win <3

Bit o' that with some of that nice ham from yesterday with the last of that nice crusty load does sound tempting...

Also, marmite and crips anyone? If not then I'll have 'em. Was a huge favourite from kiddiez barfdei partiez from me yoofy skooldaze years :)

(Where I always got top marks for spelling would ya believe?!? =D)

PS: Bargain shop also had tins of tuna for 42p 8o8o8o

There appears to be a ginger pube sticking out of the middle of that bottom half, Matt. You owning up to owning it? :D

Also, egg :|

Who the fuck wants to eat chicken periods? Ladygirl periods yes, chicken periods no. Except for ladygirl period clots - they can keep those cos they're too chewy.

Not sure I'd ever want to try one, but Elvis' favourite sandwich was the Fool's Gold.

"The sandwich consists of a single warmed, hollowed-out loaf of bread filled with one jar of creamy peanut butter, one jar of grape jelly, and a pound of bacon. "

I on the other hand do love a club sandwich - always my first choice if I am having room service...

Omelette sandwich ftmfw. On baguette, with butter and sriracha. Fuck yeah.

Also, the monte cristo. Make a cheese and jam sandwich, dip in milk and egg, and fry. Top with fried ham and turkey, mayo, lettuce, then another slice of french toast. Finish with golden syrup and icing sugar.

You know you're stoned when that seems like a good idea.

Honourable mention for roast beef, beetroot and horseradish.

i was always partial to peanut butter and cucumber when i was wee. I ve not indulged in that for while as peanut butter is like 95% fat or something crazy.

The fats in peanut butter are the good kinda fats though. As long as you don't buy some shitey brand with loads of added salt, sugar, oil and the like.

Also, peanut butter and cucumber 8o8(8o

Think I may indulge in another cheese and ham toasty sandwich for a late lunch. Fuck yeah %)

Thankyou for this thread; it has reignited my passion for all things sandwichey :D

:D it's reminded me of some old favourites I'd forgotten about and inspired me to make new ones! Veggie meatballs for tea tonight, bet that would go well in a sarnie with some cheese and maybe sliced tomato..
