Leonard Knight, having no where to go, moved out to the Californian desert and started painting the caves and rocks. There's a source of adobe local clay that he uses for the plinths that you can see in the third pic. Its become well known now and people donate paint because he gets through gallons. Brilliant isn't it!? Its not that hes technically a great artist but there's so much joy in his creations.
Check out the website. He's had real battles. The Californian council wanted to evict him and demolish the place at one point.
I loved the derelict house pictures FG If i could have any house i wanted it would be one of those American cedar planked, wooden houses. Sorta Amytivillish :D
