American pop culture reached its logical apex, which was Hannah Montana Ray Cyrus frigging herself off with a 'you're #1' foam hand in front of squeaking preteens while Simon Cowell in a corset and prison uniform did a karaoke rendition of N-Trance 'Stayin Alive' and voted himself off. Dozens of black artists crewed a mockup rap-powered slave ship behind them while members of the Bilderberg group and U2 ate babies on the poop deck.

edit: Although it was markedly less intense than any one of those gifs.

It's slightly interesting because there appears to be genuine revulsion originating in a different place to the standard right-wing extreme Christian instabacklash. Normal people seem to think she was laying it on a bit thick, which she was.

Meh, seems like the usual twaddle then - she's bustin' a gut to get attention for her new album, and promoting her change of image direction?

Rich Hall laid into her in the decent documentary he did on native American/Indian culture by calling her a Disnified Whore due to the dreamcatcher she has tatooed on her torso. T'was a good documentary if you didn't see it. I love Rich Hall.

I'm surprised how intensely un-erotic the whole performance was.

Was she in the video for Blurred lines? That's an erotic video. She was not erotic during that performance.
