I've never told anyone to "lurk moar" as the saying goes.

I am a lurker on and off from the mephedrone days (waves to BaronGreenback).
Never took any myself, but friends who were asked me for facts(why are my knees blue?)
and this place is a mine of good info/anecdotes.

There are loads of fantastic posters Roger&Me, F&B, Becoming Julie, Charlie Clean(RIP).
And the influx around the Heroin drought has changed my preconceptions immensely.

There must be law enforcement lurking sometimes:sus: unless they're all on World of Warcraft or Puffin Party.
 
I'm a proper lurker. I've been coming here most days for most of my 7 year membership.

I hope that doesn't make me some kind of creepy weirdo or something, I just don't post much because I rarely feel I have something useful to add. I've never been an an incognito lurker though, I've always been been logged in to lurk, so I guess people who check the active users list will find my username familiar.

I see you as a poster, your presence is definitely felt, you're not rampant but you're definitely noticeable ;)


IMO lurkers are those people who never ever post. Posters sometimes lurk, but that doesn't make them lurkers.

Aw thanks heh. I think probably post more now than I used to. It'd be interesting to see some more detailed statistics actually, I'm pretty sure there have been months or even years when I've not posted at all...
 
I'm a fluctuator.

I'll add that to the poll options.

I'm in a lurk phase at the moment really. When real life gets busy, my bluelight posts shed weight.

Not that anybody cares.

Yeah Sam does seem to have taken a bit of a hammering lately. This place does seem to go like that, things bubble under the surface for a while and then everyone seems to pile in all at once, once one person says something it seems to clear the way for everyone else, and its tough to be on the receiving end of a torrent of criticism (even constructive criticism). I hope its only a temporary thing as the place wont be the same without him. I dont mean to dismiss GOS but i have never clicked one way or another with that person so i couldnt say anything without sounding false, but im sure a lot of people dont want to loose him either.

I played pool for the first time in atleast 6 months last night. I still love the game, i was rusty as fuck to start with, no confidence at all. It started coming back, played some really nice pots and positional cannons and got the pace of the table fuckin perfect. Sorry to blow my own trumpet but i find it really exciting that i got it back within 20 minutes, i may be a late bloomer, and my mate wants to start playing regularly, this is going to help me so much, something positive to do to get out of the house, that really gives me a huge lift, of all the natural talents i could have been given this is a pretty useless one (im never gonna be good enough to earn a living at it, but i can be good enough to love playing.)

GoS, like Sam is a girl. (j/k sam). It would be nice if people who have "had enough" would give their reasons.

Also Sam is a sarcy bugger so I wouldn't take that too seriously. He's been through much worse on here in times past yet stayed with us.
 
I am a lurker for sure, I check bluelight pretty much everyday (gibberings mainly) but don't post, not sure why, last posted about the time mugz died, freaked me out a bit, & so many more since,it scares me. I love reading tho, quite often makes me chuckle, I do feel guilty not contributing cause it does feel like I know most of you, but I am happy lurking
 
I lurked for about a year before getting involved. I was scared to post! It can be intimidating as a newbie, because as soon as someone new joins they are accused of either being a cop, a banned poster, a sock-puppet alt or a troll. Of course in some cases that's true, and it's understandable that long-time members get suspicious about new posters.

And indeed I was accused of being troll! So I went back to lurking for a bit then when I started posting again it was a bit easier. I suppose it just helps having a join date that isn't yesterday.

But I soldiered on. Now I get to hand out infractions and tell the world about putting drugs up my bum.
 
& I have to say you do it very well knock. In fact you might be almost as good at modding as you are sticking drugs up your bum !
