Cos my eyes are fairly fucked, not ashamed to admit it i dont give a fuck, got contacts but cant focus wearing them without making an effort, and i dont give a shit about my glasses/the look of them.... as long as nobody breaks them or bends them.... however shit kicks off if they get broken.... which is rarely... but it has happened

I once wore specs and had the piss ripped out of me constantly. So I cowered off to peer pressure and wore contact lenses. Best thing I ever did, they're amazing.

Its not as if he's wearing truly geeky specs, like some Christopher Biggins or Elton John horrors. I have disposable contact lenses but they are such a faff to insert and remove without smuding them. I much prefer not having to wear glasses but they are a neccesary evil. Contact lenses are especially handy if its misty or rainy, where you need 'windscreen wipers' for them if trying to ride a bike or something in the rain. Glad to hear that you dont think they put girls off SD, but personally i think i look better without them, but i cant really see anything without them anymore. Was gonna get lazer surgery but chickened out, as i have one eye that has 20/20 vision but it has inoperable nerve damage, and i'm 3/4 blind in that eye. My 'good eye' is very short sighted and if anything went wrong with the surgery on that I'd be truly fucked. I might try wearing my contacts again next time i go out, and test whether girls are put off by glasses or not.

Yeah, laser eye surgery is one of the best things I've ever done. Not so much for vanity as convenience.. was a real pain in the arse messing around with glasses/contacts. Shame that your eyes are a bit more complicated.. can see why you chickened out as that does sound riskier.

And your test won't work because you'll know you're not wearing glasses, so might act differently around girls because of that. Placebo effect or something.

I don't know why people have an issue with wearing their specs. I don't think they negatively alter someone's appearance at all. I like wearing my specs, I like being able to see properly. Maybe it would have been different if I'd needed them at school.
