Yeah I think Billy Bragg had this style about 3 years ago. Mark Kermode has it now. 8( I think this one will go into the catalogue of haircuts that didnt go as planned. Sod it, its not as if im even working, im sure i'd be getting my leg pulled something rotten by my colleagues if i had turned up to work today. Would have been an interesting day.

there may well be an element of snobbery, which isnt a very desirable state i must admit. I hope its more on the grounds of taste though, the style looked fine on Billy Bragg 3 years ago, possibly just because he is Billy Bragg and he can have his hair styled however the fuck he wishes. But because he is Billy Bragg he doesnt have some naff spiked gelled style that a 'trendy mother' might do for their for their pre-teen son, or that Cliff Richard might sport thinking that he is cool and really still rocking it at 75 for the Grannies.

Hrmpf, that's never worked for me.. whenever I've turned up at hairdressers in the past being vague and wanting some sort of interesting hairstyle, I've been given something incredibly boring. I gave up and cut my own hair these days.. it's not exactly rocket science.

Brilliant, that's good to hear, ta. :D (My hair is currently Evey-pink at the ends but am planning more..)

And old ladies get blue rinses as it takes the yellowness out of grey hair, but sometimes they overdo it. Or not. I'd quite happily be a granny with properly-blue hair.
 
Well I never knew there was a practical reason for it. Live and learn, eh? :)

Although what is so very wrong with black, brown or blonde (or indeed purple, green or pink) is still a bit of a mystery to me. If you're dyeing it anyway I don't quite see how blue is especially dignified and the obvious choice. I once got utterly hypnotised by a blue rinse. Was the first time I ever took Valium (I got through several hundred over a week so was a bit out of it). The only thing I recall at all from that week was walking past a butcher's shop, smelling the raw meat and finding it kinda unpleasant, with a tiny lil auld lady - about chest height - with lavendar/blue hair almost directly beneath my chin as I looked down. Was utterly fascinated by it, went home and wrote a poem or summat based on it. That's the only reason I remember anything of that week I suspect.
