EADD Nootropics thread

Concentration? Whats that?

Seriously tho yeah my concentration is terrible. Especially when it comes to uni.

On the subject of cognitive enhancers, what else can fellow Blers recommend? I'm looking for something to aid in concentration.

Nootropics and stimulants are about your best hope.

What about that MDPV or whatever it is?

Line of 200mg MDA before work?

ive beeing using it a lot together with a low low dose of an ssri as i figured if i was to take an ssri it could be helpful. It certainly helped the 2cb to be an amazing experience.

It helps if u want to avoid high dose ssris, ssris never even touched my depression before.

Of course, the jury is out...if it makes mdma and ssris stronger do they do more damage?

I should mention i was at a theoretical risk of serotonin syndrome by combining 5htp 3 times a day (I worked my way up). Not reccomended.

l tyrosine 3 times a day also.

Typically 50 mg of 5htp in the morning and 1000mg of l tyrosine

Then 150mg of 5htp at bedtime. No l tyrosine.

Its been the most positive few months ive had since...well...since before puberty.

Although the fact i ran out of magnesium a few days ago and my legs want to jiggle a lot and I wake up with teethache is an indication of perhaps TOO much, which may not be good...but considering its putting me in a space where i am positive enough to achieve a positive life...its the MDMA payoff...ie quit while the wonder allows the benefits to continue...3 weeks and this little experiment winds down, because i am earning and living in my own flat.

I'm a fucking nootropic guineapig cyborg man... :D

Yeah think I need a bit of clarity. I imagine it just makes you feel clearheaded and able to think a bit more instead of feeling drowsy / spaced like I always feel for the first few hours after waking up.

I use Ginseng and Ginko Bilboa tabs for this. 2 Tabs in ther morning is great if ive got an intense day of study/lectures, gets my head into gear nicely. Its avalible OTC in the UK. Is this a nootropic??

Modafinil is shit IMO. There's a reason why a stimulant isn't scheduled, if it's weaker than coffee.

Right so do I just go in the chemist and ask for Ginseng tablets and Gink Bilboa tabs or are they one and the same thing?

Spade: You could just go into a health shop like Holland & Barrets and get those 2 off the shelf. They're doing a 3 for 2 offer at the mo. My Mum was getting a couple things so I got some magnesium to try helping me sleep better, plus it's good for restless legs as well.

Sounds like just what I need. My memory is shit at times, always go to do little things and then forget about them.

I currently take piracetam 5 days out of 7 (when i'm working). I've been taking it for the past couple of years on and off (more on that off). I find it useful on a similar level to caffeine, which is to say very useful.

It makes focusing easier, memory recall slightly better, and generally allows you to more easily get in the motivated mood necessary for work.

Individual responses to piracetam do vary. Some of the doses i hear people taking daily seem very high to me. I take less than 400mg of the stuff a day and find it to be quite strong. Other people get almost nothing from the stuff.

I'd definitely recommend trying the stuff if you are interested.

Any negatives MrM?

Well judging by other peoples reported dosages (2000mg + compared to about 400mg) i'm quite sensitive to the stuff.

For me the only real downside is that it is easy to take too much, especially when combined with caffeine (couple of cups of tea or so) and it can make me overly jittery until it becomes counter productive and unpleasant.

Also, if you are silly enough to take it too late, insomnia.

If i take too much on an empty stomach i can feel a bit queasy for a short while, but nothing more serious than vitamin pills.

No real downsides as long as i'm sensible with the dosages.

The insomnia thing puts me off. I find it hard enough to sleep at times anyway. Hmmm.
