EADD Nootropics thread

ive taken piracetam a few days before, the experiment was to see if it would bring MDMA's magic back

first time i was taking 5 grams of it a few hours before the roll, and it only potenciated the amphetamine part while decreasing euphoria

a few days later i just took 1 gram in the morning and wow i've had an amazing time, the magic was back, but the "wave" wasnt (you know the first few times when mdma kicked in, it was like "wow"

I've not tried Phenibut but i'd be very interested to hear about your experiences of it loop life. I did a quick search and couldn't find that much info about it.

What kind of effects does it have? Is it useful for insomnia? Is it at all recreational?

from what ive read it doesnt work for everyone and builds a tolerance rather fast, but it seems to be great in combination with alcohol of benzo's

Other than tolerance, the only problem I've read about Phenibut is that it can be pretty much as addictive as GBL with very nasty withdrawls that can last for up to 2 weeks. This is only an issue if you take it daily, though the fact that it is sold as a 'nootropic' is likely to encourage people to do this (just like with piracetam, only that doesn't really have withdrawl effects so it's not a problem).

When you take it for sleep do you take it just before you go to bed? I've read that the energised feeling you get once you wake is due to dopamine rebound.

Do you have to catch it first?

So, you could use it to withdraw from GBL?

Damn noone talking about 5-htp, good stuff, imho. 5-htp + St Johns Wort, not safe.. but fun.. also kapikachu, kava and GABA and pyridoxine phosphate (B6 phospahte, not HCl.. much better)

GABA does not cross the the blood brain barrier. It's a waste of time taking it.

Really, cause it works real nice for me, definitly not placebo..

I've been thinking, is crossing this blood-brain barrier really all that important, anyway?

I can attest that GABA does in fact have psychoactive effects, even when taken alone. I think this importance of crossing the BBB is overstated, ephedrine barely croses it, and is a potent stimulant. Loperamide does not cross it at all, and can cause drowsiness in opiate naive-tolerant people. I have personally found 1-3 grams of powdered GABA to be quite relaxing, and 5-6 grams to be intensely sedating.
