MXP?

Someone explain is this an arylcylohexylamine? If it easy color me tickled pink!

It certainly is. Why we're calling it mxp I am not quite sure - mxd (abbreviated from methoxy diphenidine) would make more sense. Then again maype the p is like a throwback to the third p in pcp, which should also really be a d. Who really knows?

No, it's not an arylcyclohexylamine because... it just isn't. It's easy to explain why something is an example of a class, but why it isn't? Why isn't a turkey a ball game? Why isn't pink a sovereign nation? That aside, arylcyclohexylamines have a cyclohexane group, which this doesn't, for a start.

Swarm, PCP=phenylcyclohexylpiperidine, "phencyclidine" is a somewhat arbitrary "complex clip" of the more systematic name, in a similar way to the derivation of "amphetamine" from alpha-methylphenylethylamine, or "paracetamol"/"acetaminophen" from para-acetylaminophenol.

As to the question of methoxyl groups and solubility, you've discovered the concept of polarity. Briefly, in certain types of covalent bonds, the shared electrons are more strongly attracted to one of the atoms than to the other, the more attractive one having the property of greater electronegativity. So, in a C-O bond, the oxygen atom is more electronegative than the carbon atom, so the electrons spend more time around the oxygen than the carbon, and so the atoms have a partial charge, the oxygen being relatively negative and the carbon positive. Molecules in which this happens are called polar, and as a rule of thumb, "like dissolves like", so polar molecules dissolve in water or methanol (which are also polar due to the presence of oxygen, when you see oxygen, think polar), and non-polar molecules dissolve in non-polar solvents (which we percieve as being oily). The concept is also known as hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity/lipophilicity/lipophobicity (meaning water-hate/water-love/fat-love/fat-hate, for reasons that are hopefully becoming apparent). Anyway, that's some basics, you can obviously delve deeper if you like.

There's a pretty easy way to tell if something is an arylcyclohexylamine. If it's listed on a vendor website as a legal drug, then it isn't.

Is that not a cyclohexylamine? What would you call it?

Piperidine is a hexylamine.

That would be a piperidine ring, it's a heterocyclic ring that includes a nitrogen atom, "cyclohexylamine" refers to a ring of 6 carbon atoms, one of which is bonded to an amine nitrogen, you can see the difference below:

Arylcyclohexylamines are generally understood as having this skeleton:

where "Ar" refers to an aromatic ring, usually a phenyl group, and "R" is some substitution that may be hydrogen.

I don't think that's true, unless they changed the law around the time of 2meo ket and that other pricey shit N ethyl K (£35). UK law never brought in a ban on arylcyclohexylamines did they?

Ok nice one babylonboy my bad I got you now.

Funny though, as it means that pcp isn't technically one either right? Actually I'm looking at the wrong ring on the pcp molecule, I'll take that back. The two R groups on the cyclohexylamine of pcp are both carbon atoms that go on to form a piperidine ring. Learn something new everyday.

1(d)1-Phenylcyclohexylamine or any compound (not being ketamine, tiletamine or a compound for the time being specified in paragraph 1(a) of Part 1 of this Schedule) structurally derived from 1-Phenylcyclohexylamine or 2-Amino-2-phenylcyclohexanone by modification in any of the following ways, that is to say,
by substitution at the nitrogen atom to any extent by alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl groups, or replacement of the amino group with a 1-piperidyl, 1-pyrrolidyl or 1-azepyl group, whether or not the nitrogen containing ring is further substituted by one or more alkyl groups;
by substitution in the phenyl ring to any extent by amino, alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy or halide substituents, whether or not further substituted in the phenyl ring to any extent;
by substitution in the cyclohexyl or cyclohexanone ring by one or more alkyl substituents;
by replacement of the phenyl ring with a thienyl ring.
This is the blanket clause that was added to the MODA this year, it doesn't cover all possible substitutions, but it does apply to everything that was being or had been sold and most things like them.

that's some good shit man, I fucking love it when I get on a roll.

Swarm told me in his deleted message, the cunt <3, to eat 80mg MXP in milk! That's a bit odd so I plugged 85mg in water. I am now waiting two hours. However it should take effect sooner, seeing as I went via the tradesman's entrance.

Si Ingwe disclaimer: It's not HR, or even sensible, to just plug loads of drugs. I have a huge tolerance to dissociatives, and I'm a bit gung ho. If I'm dead in a while, I won't let you know. I should have done an allergy test and incrementally increased my dose. You should do that. I am a hypocrite, and if I die, I leave no-one in the lurch, except my parents, who are old enough and sensible enough to look after themselves.

No offence Si <3 Even from beyond the grave, I wish you no harm :D

Hey Knock, yeah I do remember that ha. There is actually a bit of logic behind the whole milk thing but I seem to be tanking pretty hard in this thread as it is so I'm just gonna let what ever has been deleted stay deleted. hope you have good one though mate :)

Nice one swarm, I think I like you. Even if you seem a bit overconfident about your chemistry knowledge sometimes. I still like you. A lot.

Just to be clear, I got a grade 3 in my standard grade chemistry, I'm not very confident about my chemistry knowledge.

So.. How long is this mxp experience anyway? Seems wild if it goes on for days... Wild in a bad uncontrollable uncivolised potentially dangerous kind of way

Why thank you Knock, I think I like you quite a bit too as it happens. Do you reckon that gear's started to kick in at all yet by any chance?
