You know what would be good? Another Pre-ban vs Post-ban debate =D

@ Yoyo - I think the India labs are just pushing out a much cleaner product. Chinese labs probably had all sorts of active impurities that all added to the overall orgasmic buzz.

Let's have a heated debate!

Actually, your @Yoyo line is about as close to the truth (AFAIK) as we are likely to get. It's certainly the answer, or something very close to it, that I got from EADD's finest theoretical chemist.

But the thing is...ol' whatsisname from The Hive, the guy who synthed it in 2003, ...which product was he making? Because his raving about it equated to it being more along the lines of the Chinese product that followed, rather than this inferior (but purer?) Indian shite. And if that's the case, how on earth did he synth the same (apparently wonderful) impurities?

Perhaps he hadnt quite mastered the synth and his was also left with impurities? Complete guess there.

Or if his product was just a pure as the Indian labs, then its no suprise he still raved about it, because there are still plenty of people who are big fans of that stuff.

A few other questions about why the chinese product was 'dirtier' might help answer it;
Were their precursors of lower quality?
Did they neglect to give the product a final wash?
Different synth route?

If say, the Chinese were to use exactly the same synth as The Hive cunt, which may or may not have been the reason for impurities and the Indians were to use a different synth, which just so happened not to leave impurities; then there would be your answer! But of course none of these can be easily proved, so i think we are just gonna be going on circles again =D

Its annoying, because i bet at least one person uncovered a pre-ban stash who had tried both, but just doesnt use bluelight to solve this bubbling shyte of mystery :!
 
Did that actually happen?! Holy shiet - imagine the horror 8o Cant imagine theres many worse ways to go than that.. Unless he served and the 6-APB molecules infused with his DNA? Sounds like the birth of a superhero.

I got a text from my dealer yesterday to tell me he had some new stuff in that looked pretty good. Was willing to give me a sampler but alas, I had to decline what with my SSRIs & whatnot.

Even myself, I don't really know how to quantify the difference between pre-ban & 'street meph' ... the end of 2010 was the last time I had any genuine pre-ban, so my memory is rather hazy as to exactly what it was like.

Well, this is meph thread 14, the first 11 or 12 or so of which took roughly 12 months to complete. That tells you something.

Cue Shambles "yeah, it inspired lots of babbling bullshit"

Maybe so. But it also inspired the biggest drug cultural phenomenon this side of MDMA.

Haha fuck sake; im really sorry if it was my doing that sparked this debate again. I do like to discuss it, its just whether the majority of other people do.

Which of ketamine and mephedrone do you believe should get the crown (or wooden spoon) for popularizing dubstep as we know it? By dubstep i mean the proper WUBWUBWUB shyte.

What im getting is; your saying that Simon Reynolds on a bad day should get the crown for popularizing dubstep due to his article about it, but im sure im well off the mark here (as usual). I understand this is exposing my sheer dimwittedness, but its probably best to get the out the way and hope that rather than stupidity its seen as 'trying my very best' :D
 
Reynolds, normally a pretty good journalist who knows his drugs, wrote a shit article (linked) which tried to tie in dubstep with ketamine.

And you're not dim-witted.
 
Aaaah thanks for clearing that up haha :D So do you think that dubstep would have flourished without either ketamine or mephedrone? From an outsiders perspective, i think that ket had some influence. Ive never been part of the dubstep scene, so i dont know how much truth there is to that. Meanwhile, mephedrone was never as popular in the states as it is here and they love that Skrillex tripe,

As for the second part; (sorry to be self-indulgent here) i have a really fucking strange intelligence. I havnt quite figured it out yet, but in some instances i'm an absolute moron and in others not so much. My inability to come up with puns has forever plagued me :(
 
I was actually researching this today while I should have been doing some work. Neo Doves which were my introduction to meph, (around 06-07?) came back from lab tests as containing not only 4-Methylmethcathinone but Metamfepramone and Phthalimidopropiophenone. Perhaps its the absence of the last 2 which is making post-ban meph shit?

Neo Doves were the tits, fucking pricey though.
 
Used to love that dreamy-ness off meph when the dose was cranked up, everything would look so good, watching a big crowd of people dancing with lasers and strobes and stuff was mesmerizing. serotonin related i assume as MD does similar

"Phthalimidopropiophenone is a chemical intermediate used in the synthesis of cathinone. It has been found to be sold on the illicit market as a controlled substance analogue, but little is currently known about its pharmacology or toxicology."

"Metamfepramone (also known as dimethylcathinone) is metabolized to produce N-methylpseudoephedrine and methcathinone."

"N-Methylpseudoephedrine is a stimulant. It is a derivative of pseudoephedrine and an isomer of N-methylephedrine. It is present in ephedra.
In organic chemistry, it is used in asymmetric synthesis."

Hmmm, interesting! By the looks of it they were most definitely in there due to the chemist not cleaning the final product, rather than purposely put in there. Apparently Metamfepramone was used as a recreational drug in Israel, so this further supports the theory that the impurities were what gave it that extra kick.

I would say thats pretty conclusive tbh. Or as close as we are going to get anyway.
 
According to F&B he was under the impression that 3-MMC was the largest impurity, at around 10%. If we could get figures for how much percentage each active impurity had, then we could do a Frankenstein and attempt to put together all the parts.


If could get the percentage of Methcathinone, then that would probably be good enough. That alongside 3-MMC & 4-MMC would probably recreate it almost exactly.

All these extra stimulants (impurities) in there would also explain why pre-ban was an absolute cunt on the heart. Hnnnnnnnnnng

Drone doesn't actually work that much on the Serotonin, which is relatively surprising. That's why People on SSRI's tend to take drone instead of MD (due to the lack of effects and possibility of Serotonin syndrome when MD and SSRI's are used together).
 
Aaaaaatually onetwocatpoo me old chum; the first dose of meph actually releases more serotonin than MDMA, but doses after that are more on the dopamine side of things.
