Snowdonia is essentially my back garden. Never really been out in it though. Got driven to one of the popular touristy mountains that isn't Snowdon when I first moved here but otherwise never been. I really should make more of an effort. Am not much of an outdoorsy type but it's definitely very pretty indeed around these parts if you get out in it a bit.

oh you really should Mr S. Theyve reopned the railway now, so you wont even break into a sweat. (less satisfaction that way tho) Not sure if they do concession prices or w/e/

The views all the way up are breathtaking. Then at the summit you get to look down on the crows soaring in the thermals beneath you. They would certainly also have buzzards and possibly also red kites there but not seen any.

Rather more interesting that your common 'town' pigeon

That sounds about right, Jan. Get to be all rugged and manly on the way up and let the train take the strain on the way back. Depending on which drugs are involved anyway...

MDB: Yes I definitely should. Have seen plenty red kites - they're more common than pigeons round here - but am not much of an ornithologist so are probably lost on me.

Depends how fit you are regarding drugs. Stimulants are an obvios choice, but could be dangerous for those of us that arent as fit as we used to be and able to cope with 180bpm or something.

I think a moderate & low dose stim for me. I'll bring some of my noid blends too, if anyone wants to try....Havent really got anything else appropriate. MXE. NO. Benzos maybe for afterwards or near the summit. Psychedelics could be indescribable & a deeply spiritual experience, though potentially very dangerous. Maybe doable in a group setting, where ppl watch out for each other. But still.....

Im 1/3 indie kid, 1/3 hippy, and 1/3 twat but i do feel deeply connected to mountains, lakes, tress, nature etc etc.... As The Levellers said "These are things i can understand " Too right guys. Nature fills me with emotion and i pray in gratitude when alone in its midst. I keep praying although im not religious........

Ive done it once that i can remember abt 3 yrs ago. Was probably dragged up on a school trip too though. Theres at least 4 major routes up ther. I went up one that branches into a Y. Took the left frok going up and the right fork coming down. By sheer luck that was a brilliant choice. You have to drive all the way round to the far side to get to that route though. Some of the routes are so heaving with people you might as well be in a city centre on a saturday afternoon. That is not the point of it for me.

I've walked up and down Snowdon twice but me legs are fucked now (thanks NHS) so it was train up/walk down last year. And yeah, pirate was involved. Couldn't see DMT at the top being a problem.

I'd definitely hike up, train down. I love going uphill but downhill is dangerous & unpleasant for me. With a proper group of us a mild psychedelic would be fantastic, 4-aco-det comes to mind, not that I have any of that left. DOI could work at a low threshold dose.

I think I was stoned last time I did it. Whatever drug is involved it will have to be something which removes the need men have to pretend they're not out of breath and physically destroyed when they're at the top. Last time I did it I pretended that I'd been hanging back to keep this fat fuck who really was labouring company, while a load of sporty types did it about an hour faster than us. Mind you I smoked back then.

As a confirmed unhealthy fat fuck I can say for sure that I will not feel the need to pretend not to be out of breath. Although I have just given up smoking which may help.

In terms of drugs I'm thinking maybe a lil MDMA for me. Perky without being overly stimulating, good for sociability and also enhancing of pretty things.

A strongish dose of poppy tea sounds good to me, keep nice and warm, it has the legs to last the round trip, and not much chance of going mental and providing unnecessary entertainment.
