What business of there's is it whether you have a good credit record? I've never heard of this before, is it common and why do they do it?
 
aye that sounds odd, carsick? what gives?

i'm not sure if i did too well today. i think i gave them the answers they wanted to hear, and the people were nice and friendly etc., but i don't feel as if i gave a very dynamic performance... maybe it's all in my head. :|
 
Any company in the financial sector will insist on a credit report for its employees. Insurance tends to be a little more lenient.

I know a girl took a job with Barclays and they forgot to do the credit check...she was sacked when it came back bad. I'd have kicked up a fuss if that had been me.

Supposedly they need to know that you're not going to be tempted to start shifting funds around to help yourself if you have a bad credit rating.

However, whenever I speak to somebody about my financial situation...I find they often have a rose tinted view of the way it really is. I'd rather deal with somebody who has been there done that!
 
It's a corporate policy. I'd be on the consultancy side anyway, and not in any way, shape or form involved with end customers or have any kind of ability to access funds.
The fact that I'm even being considered for the job still, I think is quite impressive.
 
Fuck it I'm off to do some WOOFING somewhere. Hopefully a place where they make their own cider. :D

i keep going over that interview in my mind.

what struck me was the fact that the HR wifey didn't really push me for answers too much. like, i would have three answers ready to say, and after i'd given the first one she would move onto the next question.

so is that a good sign or a bad one? was she just going through the motions, or were my first answers so fucking awesome she didn't need to hear any more?

The HR woman was most probably there just as a minute taker and backup to help with choice making further down the line.

I wouldn't worry about it. Nothing you can do to change it now anyway. Interview dissection only causes stress as it can't be undone now.

Your answers probably satisfied them enough without needing to add more. I always feel the urge to talk more after a silence..but stop myself as I know that would just be babble. Short and precise is always best.

All you can do is be friends with time now and not cause anymore stress to yourself.
