The MD had lready hired me but the seconf interview they seemd to have some doubt.

I told them I would check my diary to make sure i could start monday. I phned up today and they phoned back and basically said becuase I had hesitated it showed i wasnt committed etc.

I knew after walking out the last lot didnt like me.

Those are pretty funny (Although most of them are staged)

But I fucking hate people who put music (shitty music at that) over clips like that. It ruins them.
 
i'm starting to get pretty annoyed. i sent an email to the HR woman who's looking after my application a week ago, and she replied saying she would get in touch with the construction superintendent to see if 'he wants to interview' me. 8)

so much for being on a shortlist, eh?

rather than put all my eggs into this basket, i think i need to start looking elsewhere. fucksticks. :!

Unfourtunately I've got nearly 15 years of time to make up something for. Fortunately Im quite an imaginative chap ;).

Actually, I had a very good chat with my "PA" yesterday which essentially bolied down to something like, "Pissed off? What do you expect after a fortnight downer binge?" and reminding me that I am actually doing stuff and heading the right way. Just feel a little frustrated sometimes.

So I've ended my little binge (feeling pretty shitty now :\) for a while and am attempting to lay off the booze and downers for a while. I think a new career may still be a little way off though :D

That's a bit shit.

I'm getting frustrated too. I was told I'd be emailed 'within the next few days' about whether or not I'd passed this test and that was on the 24th despite the fact that I sat the test on the 15th! I'm probably just being impatiant.
 
HR people are just complete and utter lying, robotic, amoral, emotionless scumbag cunts who are only there as mouthpieces for the management to save them getting sued. the last time anyone in HR actually did anything for the workers was back in 1976. :X

Definitely. Unless it's someone you *really* trust never rely on word of mouth, secretaries or HR people. They just feed you self-serving endless BS to keep you sweet.

Cast your net as wide as possible... :)
 
yep. i've got a guy on the inside who i do completely trust, but at the end of the day the woman's probably just lying to him... :\

i can't believe how slow this is. it's a fucking CONTRACT job for fuck sake, these things are usually sorted within a couple of days!

cletus got his job interview over the phone and he started about a week later without even *meeting* anyone!!!
 
Some folk have all the luck eh.

I'm thinking maybe the reason they haven't got back to me as quickly as I'd like is that the course doesn't actually start until September. If I knew I had a place then I'd quite happily sit doing nothing until then (a well earned break after 2 whole years of full-time employment :D ) but if I don't then I'm not pissing about for weeks waiting.

I sent off that application for the Oil thing btw. Hope I hear back from them because the more I read about it the more enthusiastic I am.

Is this through an agent? they're greedy percentage guzzling scumags too (grrr to anyone working in recruitment, you bastards) ut they'll get the job done quicker, so to speak!

no, it's directly with the main contractor and oil company.

but aye, agencies are generally useless money-stealing cunts. a mate of mine (offshore) used to be through an agency who paid him £320 a day and kept £320 to themselves. 50% for doing FUCK ALL. 8)

Nah I don't think so. Bit to much D and not enough R of the R&D... And besides there are mega visa issues for Wendy to come meaning shotgun marriage or nothing!! I'm trying to negotiate doing the work as a consultant from london but it's a bit tricky..

Meh, something will work out :)
