Looks like my mum might of bagged herself a job (she hasn't worked in 18 years due to suffering from agoraphobia) but it sounds fucking cushty to me. Basically she'd be working from home, answering phones and whatnot, she'd get a brand new computer, broadband and phone bills taken care of, choose her own shifts, aaannnnnnnnnnnnnnndddd get £15 an hour. Oh, and did I mention it was an escort agency?. The LOL factor was almost too much for me. I'd have to start calling her Mistress or something. =D

Anyway, I told her to go for it though. She's just worried because she's a bit rusty, but she used to work from home before so it should be a snap. The only difference now is that she'd have to use a PC and she really is clueless when it comes to these sorts of things. I mean really clueless. But hey, I can show her a few things. :)

That's basically it, yeah.

Making arrangements and taking credit card payment from men who require that certain lady for that certain occasion.

I'm finding this hilarious. =D <3 =D

Oh, and the job was offered to her through a friend of a friend.
 
^ My ex tried it for a while (she was, and I imagine still is, a saucy minx to say the least ;)). It's apparently really rather unpleasant, and coming from her that's saying something.

She did a bit of escorting but said it mainly involved large groups of Arab businessmen wanting to humiliate her for fuck all. She also tried prostitution in Amsterdam, but said she couldn't cope with the rejection of not being picked every time.

I'm sure there's fun (and money) to be had somewhere, but for the majority it is just a misery.
 
^ More like a roomfull, from what I was told, but I take the point :).

I've known quite a few prostitutes (or escorts if we're being polite) over the years. It really is as sordid and unpleasant as you may expect...
 
^ Oops! I will add the disclaimer that there are, of course, some entirely respectable escort agencies that are exemplorary in their conduct. I'm sure your mother will be employed by one of these. There's good and bad practice everywhere, I probably just saw more of the bad due to circumstance.
 
No, I'm glad you mentioned it. It's so easy to see big £ signs when it's waved in front of you on a plate. I don't want my mother selling her soul to a company who profit from other womens misery.

I'll see if I can find out a bit more. Maybe they have a website :D
 
Whatever the outcome it wouldn't affect her directly. I'm just thinking of the women who have to do the dirty work. I dunno. I just like to keep a clear conscience in life. I believe in karma, you know?.
 
Indeed, I wasn't making moral judgements - I'm the last person to be able to do such things - simply making the obvious point that "escorting" is just prostitution with a slight image change. Personally I wish it were just all legalised and cleaned up a bit, cos this prohibition thing clearly isn't working (now there's a surprise). I have no problem with people who work in the sex industry - far from it in fact. Some of my best friends and all that...

Fucking hell get this!. My mum just came back from shopping and told me that the guy charges £2,500 an hour for time with the women! 8o
