Yes that's on my mind, but I was hoping alasdair would have a read over the thread intact first so he could see first hand what OTW gets up to.

Does actually reporting posts of his actually have an effect? if there's decent reasoning given for reporting them, pretty much like we've been talking about in the thead?

If so, I'll more than happy go on a spree and report stuff from him I find inappropriate
 
Reported posts get looked at. Alasdair is aware. But to fully understand the nature of OTW's trolling the thread needs to be read in toto.

I agree. There are people who love a good old PM to try and cause fractures and alter peoples perceptions of others, I'm aware of it having been done about me. I refuse to enter into it, other than PMing that picture of Spade when requested.

The way I see it, if someones so pathetic they have to resort such malevolent little tactics, how can you trust them - if they'll do it to you, they'll do it about you. It has an insiduous damaging effect on the whole forum. Don't trust em further than you can throw em.

But back to the OTW subject, why can't he just agree to stay out of EADD?

I'm very aware of this issue too. I know I've been the subject of several similar exchanges (some recent, some not-so-recent). I agree with you 100%.

Won't say anymore on the matter as I'm probably risking sanctions here already, but thank you for saying this b&w. It does affect the forum negatively; a lot more than public spats, in fact.

I'm totally with you on it too. People's misperception of situations and the lengths they'll often go to, to peddle nonsense, always leaves me a bit stunned.

Happened to me last year. By all means they can go ahead with those types of tactics if they want, but they'll get outted publicly whenever it happens to me and I find out about it. Shit stirring behind the scenes is poor form. I'd much prefer to have it out in the open, and people can call me on it if they wish to, but at least it's transparent that way.

No. Genuinely, they can't. Unless they're reported. Which means that unless the recipient of the poisonous shit-stirring takes exception to the extent they're willing to report it, the shitty PMing goes entirely unpunished.
 
Re PMs: The response we got back last time we asked was, no, they can't and nor can admins (unless an admin makes an official request which apparently doesn't happen very often)

And I gotta say Sam, while you say you've experienced this kind of thing in the past and recently, which I believe, as recent as a few days ago you were advising people to keep their beefs TO PMs and it shouldn't be splashed around the board, so I'm a little confused by your current viewpoint, unless it's changed.

Or maybe you're talking about completely different types of experiences than the ones B&W and I are talking about.
