EADD Ibiza 2014 thread

What clubs would you say are a must for a first time visit (probably going for about a week in early September)? Also, I can't work out if it's best to stay in San An or PDB... I heard San An is a younger crowd/more rowdy and as I'm still only 19 I'm kind of leaning towards that but there seem to be so many conflicting opinions I'm slightly confused.

San Antonio is like any rowdy UK city center x 5 - Yes there is trouble, yes there are people really drunk and all the usual behavior that goes with that. I stayed there for a week and had no problems and didn't see anything other than what I wouldn't see in any other city center on any other weekend (except in Ibiza - every night is like a Saturday night). Early morning (sunrise if your still awake - getting up ) there are a lot of people lying about in the streets, asleep on the beach, and the expected mess from a heavy night - this is cleared in a few hours and its start again.

Clubs - what music do you like ?

Any kind of music when I'm out, I mean normally I like rock and metal and stuff but when clubbing I like anything as long as you can dance to it! I'm used to city centres, live near London and go to uni in Birmingham so I guess I should be alright in San An? I am going on my own though so that's the only concern. Also, in terms of days which ones are the best for nights out or doesn't it really matter? I was thinking of going 9th Sept (Tuesday) to 16th because I've found a cheap deal but will it still be nice and busy that late in the season?

^I replied to your posts about going alone :) - days of course have a huge impact of the nights :D - Clubs on a Monday are different to the same club on a Wednesday which are very different to a club on a Saturday.

Check the listings - If you really don't give a fk about the names and want the vibe then avoid the main listings 'Tiesto on a Monday for 60Euro Etc' - Pacha etc.

Definitely.

Even if you don't care that much about the music you're still better going to the nights with better music. Go to Space on Sunday. Anything else is interchangeable if you don't care who's playing. I'd suggest Amnesia on Monday.

The week you're thinking of going, I would go to.

Tuesday - Carl Cox @ Space (Adam Beyer, Matthias Tanzmann, Umek, Seb Leger, Uto Karem)
Wednesday - Tribal Sessions @ Sankeys (Darius Syrossian, Jeff Mills, Derrick May)
Thursday - Enter @ Space (Hawtin, Dubfire, Nina Kraviz, Gaiser, Guy Gerber)
Friday - Comedown.
Saturday - Zoo Project
Sunday - We Love @ Space
Monday - Circo Loco then Amnesia (Luciana b2b Ricardo Villalobos - oooft! That's a must!)

The line-up that Sunday at Space isn't really to my taste tbh, so I'd possibly patch that (and maybe the Carl Cox night as well, depends how I felt at the time) and actually make Circo Loco for once.

Fuck sake. Sitting here pure dreaming of Ibiza haha. I doubt I'll make it over this year, can't see me having the spare cash.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look for me. I've got absolutely no preference/no real idea about what DJs are good really so I'll probably just go with your recommendations PTC. Do most people go to the big clubs everyday then or do you usually have a couple of nights doing other stuff? What area would you recommend to stay in as well for someone my age? I'm still not 100% going as I haven't booked anything yet but it's looking more and more likely. Need to sort out my passport still as well.

I'd always recommend PDB over San An. But I don't really like San An, the two clubs there (Eden & Es Paradis) don't interest me at all. The "west end" which is basically just a big street full of cheap shit bars is where most folk go, it's absolutely jumping but all a bit shit and tacky. The beach round at Cafe Del Mar and Mambo is good, and a bit further round there's some nicer bars. One called Kannya or something like that is decent.

PDB is a bit quieter but still bouncing. Bit more of an older foreign crowd (basically not thousands and thousands of 18-21 year old British cunts), but still a party crowd. Space is walking distance from most hotels in PDB, the beach is right next to everything, the sunrise in PDB is amazing in the morning.

I'm biased towards PDB but I've stayed in San An a few times and still had a fucking great time. Your age won't really make a difference. If you like cheap pubs with deals on the alcopops and 100 shots for a quid, then a kebab and a good spew in the street San An is probably better, if you like things a bit more civilised then PDB is the one :)

That list I put up is the nights I'd want to go to, in reality I'd probably miss a few - particularly if I was on my own with no-one to force me out. I don't really know about other stuff to do in Ibiza, I'm sure there is but whenever I've been it's been clubbing or drinking in bars every night, then continuing on or sleeping during the day.

I'm going 1-6 of July for the first time and looking forward to all the island has to offer ;) This def sounds like an ideal vacation. Does anyone know if it is possible to get tickets on the island for Pacha's FMIF?

It will set you back probably 90-120 euros, tickets get scalped to this event. Place are going to be rammed because Pacha club is quite small. VIP-seatings take up large areas of the club. You could also try to book a table at their restaurant, spend say 80 euro take the drink with you and enter the club for free. Another option is a VIP-table, its 200 euro each but you will be able to spend almost the full amount.

In my view this event is hard to enjoy in a good way. Always meet a bunch of people that go for the "big night" in Pacha and get dissapointed. Pacha and Es Paradise are places were people in particular arent super liberal towards drugs either.

Thanks for the info especially the attitude towards drug use, bummer for me. My sister wants to go and since she only drinks that won't bother her, but at least I know what to expect ahead of time and will plan my night accordingly.

If you prefer guitars to dance music, check the listings for Ibiza Rocks (San An). I think there might be some places in PDB that also put on live acts (hip hop, maybe indie/rock) as an alternative to dance music. Also there definitely at least used to be at least one indie/rock bar in San An as well as now an Ibiza Rocks Bar by the front. Ibiza Rocks is a good place to catch a live band. Saw Biffy Clyro there a few years back. Despite not being a fan, I enjoyed the experience. Some of them were on the same plane home as us too, as they live just down the road (my sister's mate used to go out with one of them lol).

- avoid Pacha
- if first time I would stay in San An
- defo go to DC10, Circo Loco about 5pm would be ideal.
- Space probably best club on the island. Sundays not as good as they were but still consistently good and all rooms open.
- If going for pills try and ask around what presses are good and seek those out, rather than taking first lot you get offered.
- Sankeys probably friendliest place to meet UK people.

I actually think pacha is good if you pick the right night - Insane for example

I've been 3 times ( about 8, 5 & 4 years ago) and 2 were spoilt by overcrowding and general layout, and 1 time was good - but we got a table which cost about 150EUR each...!

Friday night: ?
Pacha- Insane with John Digweed
or
Space- Clandestin presents Full on Ibiza with Ferry Corsten

Since the Pacha crowd is less tolerant toward rolling would Space be a better atmosphere?
