It sounds like he was exactly that for a very long time. He's cleaned up now though, he's becoming something of a TV celeb these days, and has a regular spot on Channel 4s Countdown and has been on Have I Got News For You, and Would I Lie To You etc. He recently headlined 2 sold out nights running at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall. He would have been so proud. I had a ticket but I couldnt go as I wasnt well on the day god damn it.. That's twice now that I've missed him in similar circumstances. All being well I will catch him supporting Squeeze at THe Apollo in a few months. His career is currently at all time high. Good luck to the guy for sure.

His life story is admirable. From being a bookish and unhealthy but smart and streetwise kid, to persuading Bernard Manning to give him a break at his rough-house comedy club. Reading his poetry to that rough crowd in there, "that's not nothing" as he would say. It helped craft his performance style. To become part of the punk and later druggy bohemian scene. And now a respectable guest on teatime TV playing wordgames with Suzy Dent in dictionary corner.

just wondering, @axe battler and i were amused to discover that we share the same foil preference (Tesco extra strong), and obviously clear clipper lighters are the superior lighter for any druggy needs. but, is the Tesco foil objectively the best or is that a weird coincidence?

i.e. what foil do you guys rate?

tbh after i discovered norwich people weren't trolling me by suggesting i smoked heroin through my crack pipe, i mostly gave up on foil. pipe's just more convenient in many situations.
 
I use to rate lidl for cost and volume 30m for £3 and also the co-op do a nice line in jimmy. I never never never liked clippers as you cant adjust the flame and it's often too high - 6 for a quid throaways from the pound shop served me well.

Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, anything sold as extra strength is my favourite personally.clear clippers are great for everything and good got bbbut my fave lighters for brown are the regular, disposable cheap ones. You can adjust the flame to the perfect amount and it feels more accurate.

Cleao clippers are thee best all-rounder tho!

nooooooo!!!!!

urgh the amount of time i've wasted with shite cheap lighters that bearly produce a flame when i am fucking starting to rattle and they can't even melt the fucking gear. especially the clicky ones without flints. just fucking pathetic. i remember buying a 3 pack not knowing how shit they were and i might as well have thrown that money in the bin.

for crack clippers are crucial, and you need the proper clipper gas to refil to get the right pressure. even the adjustable lighters don't get high enough. you have to dr em.

Really nice dark tonight.
The bag was big so I assumed it must be bashed badly but nope, the first line made my spine light up as I always say, you know when you are sick & the first bit of smack kicks off your opiate receptor and your whole body twists up, it can be quite an unpleasant feeling in a way I got that feeling as I held the smoke in, several hours later I'm 4 cups of tea down, having a nice scratch, riding out the nod as It's coming in waves of heroin relaxing bliss.

This is good quality heroin just as Afghan #3 was intended to be, the gear is so light & looks"fluffy" too, it's times like this score I don't mind paying £20 for 3, I've still got the rest of the score for tomorrow!!

I love gear when it's this good, honestly I like it more than the best quality Hash I've tried & that is quite a statement to make."
 
Haaa Tesco extra strong foil is my one and only foil lool. Don’t get how people even use that cheap 50p stuff lighters burn it up and put holes in it half the time.

On a similar note, does any of you ever get a ‘chosen one’ lighter every so often…? And it will last months and months?

Yeah I totally agree with you about foil, any "extra strong" stuff from any supermarket is best. Used to hate having to use the 59p shite from little corner shops, but some people actually prefer the thin shite.

And yeah I've had lighters that last ages, but only clippers. When I was smoking brown I would buy 2 of the cheap.disposables (with the flints, not the clicky buttons!), I'd turn the flame to max and when they'd start running low, I'd take the guard off and turn it up then put the guard back. In a proper 3-4 bag day, I would need the second lighter. I'd usually alternate lishtas as well to avoid overheating.

I don't mind clippers for b, but I used to find those cheapy ones way more accurate in directing the heat to melt all that toffee and run it where I wanted. To get a big flame with a clipper you gotta tilt it and it's harder to manipulate that beetle IMO.
Clippers are best for white, weed, DMT, SALVIA (if you're that way inclined) and anything you smoke in a pipe/bong/bucket or whatever.

And that's my novella on lishtas. Anyone use any lighter slang??

I love morphine, which technically is gear too. Heroin converts into morph since ur liver metabolizes it in yer bodayyyy.Therefore Heroin doesn't really exist....only when it's in powder but the one chemical that gets u high is morphine...So u love morphine too lols.
I bet you already knew all of this, I'm just too high on morphine and clonaz babbling nonsense xddddddd
