I saw a short series a few years ago,about a group of people going through detox5. The ones that had been just using gear were through their rattle in a week,but the methadone user was just starting their rattle by then.The show didn't follow any further than that.
I saw that show as well. What annoyed me was that while the heroin patients were puking their guts up and the methadone patients was relatively OK (about 2 days in or so). Instead of recognising that the methadone patient's WDs hadn't started yet they seemed to be congratulating her and implying "see we told you it wouldn't be bad". When really her WDs would only really kick in when she left. I'm not sure how a system like that would work for methadone...unless in was inpatient for at least a couple of months.
