I have chronic (what?) asthma and have smoked a lot of cannabis from age 13/14 onwards. But I switched to eating and vaporizing when the asthma attacks and COPD-like stuff got worse in my late teens. Nowadays I do have a smoke once in a while, currently four spliffs per day to be precise, but can easily do eating/vaporizing only.
Vapor doesn't give a proper hit until you get your apparatus dialed 100%, the more so with cannabis. I've used volcano, verdamper, and Arizer EQ, and they all have downsides. But once you have it dialed it's glorious.
You need good equipment, but there are better & cheaper vaporizers out now, e-cig designs are improving too, Chinese companies are really bringing this stuff to the mass market.
I got one of the cheapest vaporizers around that isn't completely useless, Flowermate Vapormax V5. I've used vaporizers that cost three times as much & were just like breathing warm damp air, but this gives gives a proper hit every time, bigger hit than smoking weed can & it's simple to use, there's no learning how to use it or anything, just put some weed in, press the button, wait until the light stops flashing (~30 seconds from cold) & suck. It's already saved me money & I've only had it a couple of weeks, I'm using less than half the amount of weed I used when I smoked & getting more stoned, it's put my tolerance up & now a joint doesn't do much for me. I'm feeling much better for it too.
For e-cigs, get a wickless cart, like a GS H2, they don't leak or block, they're dirt cheap, simple to clean, they last ages & they're rebuildable too. The older CE4 type carts are a hassle.
