I saw Emily Blunt on Jonathon Ross talking about it. Im not a fan of the man but he seemed to really rate it. I think I may take my first trip to the cinema in about 4 years.

Old fashioned - funny you should say that as I was sat thinking, this is a western, and it is a western, really. A good one.



Deffo, I like getting out to the big screen now and again even if I could watch everything from the comfort of my sofa. There was hardly anyone in the cinema last night, maybe twenty of us, and we all kind of gravitated round a certain spot and although we weren't chatting away or anything, it felt like we were in a big living room; shared experience, even with strangers, is often better than the solitary equivalent.

It was nice that no-one made unnecessary noise too, I think the type of film and the timing was a big part of that. Mid-week scifi cinema ftw.

And, from a purely technical POV, my 42" plasma is no competition to the big screen,

You never go to the Cameo or Film House Knock? Good wee places always showing decent films.

Yes I go to both regularly.

Are you trying to catch me out as a philistine member of the general populace?

Sometimes though, in both the cameo and filmhouse, you can end up sat in between two fat cunts who occupy more space, time and indeed mindshare than they deserve and it can be quite uncomfortable!

Hence why midweek mainstream movie venue.

Plus - BIG SCREEN GOOD.

I like that you can drink booze in the screens in both of them, I don't think the Vue or Odeon let you do that.

Sunshine Cleaning with Emily Blunt and Amy Adams is quite enjoyable.

Two sisters with money problems start cleaning crime scenes, the characters are quite well developed, especially the side ones like the shop owner, their dad and so on, it sort of reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite in a way, slow film with not much happening but very well thought and written.
