My Tom Cat Domino has recently started to try to sex his sister, he bites her neck and climbs on top of her, fortunately he's not quite learned that he needs to bring out his penis to complete the act! I'm getting him fixed asap! Deja looks at me with wide eyes that say 'Help me!'

He has also started to wander around the flat, Meowing or howling until I go and find him, or climbs on top of the kitchen door, and meows until I get up on a ladder and fetch him down. Attention seeking fella.

We thought my cat was a girl for ages cus he had no visible external wang. We didn't know anything about cat's and their junk. And the cat found us, we didn't buy him. He just came in one day and ate my dad's roast dinner off the side (he went mental) and that was that. I think he was semi-ferral and free at that point. Any way, my sister who was quite young at the time kept saying "I saw his willy/boner". And we all called her a liar and laughed at her sceptically. Then one morning I was in the shower and she was beating down the door like mad, so I ran out with a towel half round me thinking something was wrong; And there was my sister stood there holding the cat pulling his back legs apart showing his little worm boner shouting "SEEEEEEE SEEEE I TOLD YOU HE WAS A BOY I TOLD YOU" with a huge grin on her face. The cat was just like WTF WTF get me away from your sister.

I love that cat, he is such a character. Having spent much of his early life out on his own he seems even more independent and free thinking than most cats. I stood up for him and fed him and cuddled him a lot in those early days, and even now when I go home he always seems particularly pleased to see me. He victimises the rest of the family, especially my sister. If he ever needs a shit and can't get out it's always done in my sisters room. Sometimes he will sit outside her door meowing over and over for hours til she lets him in then goes back to bed, then once he's in he waits til shes asleep and puts his arsehole right slap bang in her face or claws at her. He couldn't be better if I had trained him on purpose lol. He was alright with my parents until they spayed him. That was the ultimate betrayal in his eyes.

I still can't decide on the cats vs dogs thing though. I am also partial to guinea pigs too. O, and whales, seals and bears, but I guess they aren't pets.

Cherry if you're lucky you'll get him fixed before he sprays :D

Oh yes, I'm hoping so!! I've seen him sort of assuming the position, as if he's trying to do it, but he's never left anything behind, I think he's still learning his way. He's currently wandering about talking to himself, he'll do this for a while until I go and see what he's up to, then he'll go to sleep on top of my shelves, before waking me up at 4am by wandering around making a howling sound then demanding to snuggle in bed next to me. He's an odd little thing. Deja is sat on my lap with her paws crossed, resting her head on my knee.

Here he is sitting on top of the Microwave for the warmth, something he gets told off for doing! He's not allowed on the kitchen work tops!

Dogs!
They genuinely love you and give you affection. They know when you're upset and come to you and try and comfort you, when you're excited and happy they get excited with you. Yes they take more looking after than cats, you gotta bath them, walk them etc. Vets bills are higher generally, but the friendship and loyalty you get in return is worth it. Any dog friend will guard you - a large dog, mastiff, alsation etc is usually enough to put would be muggers, burglars off and a small dog, westie, yorkie etc are very good 'alarm' dogs, with my westie the only people he would not bark(yap) his head off at until I told him it were ok, were myself and my 2 young children - I live with parents and even they got the barking treatment.
Cats are ok, but they only show affection when they want something, not just for the sake of it. They're very independant and not very playful. I can see why some would prefer, but for me, doggys win, I prefer my dog friend to human friends.
Sadly my westie Alfie passed away last october, me and my eldest were(still are) gutted. But, we've decided to get a puppy next spring when we've fully grieved, my son has insisted it HAS to be a westie, HAS to be a boy and HAS to be called Alfie. Hopefully Alfie 1 will take it as an honour of how loved he was.

Was lush to see your kitties yesterday Cherry! <3

Manicmama I have been coming round to dogs lately after spending some time with my Uncle's, but cats still win for me :)

I think ur either a dog lover, a cat lover, animal lover in general - or a person who dislikes animals.
I'm not fond of people who dislike animals, and don't even get started on people who abuse animals - Sickens me to the pit of my stomach, really angers me.

I know where you're coming from but it's just not true. Little Alice over there <== will often just be fucking nice to me and not want anything in return - well, maybe a little loving back but it's give and take.

Maybe all the cats I've had have been loners, or maybe my own needs for affection are just more freely and openly given by a dog, I really do get on so much better with a dog than people.
I don't dislike cats, my nana always had lots of cats growing up, and we had a few of our own over the years.
Maybe it's the instant bond, the wagging tail when u come home and he sees u, the look of pure love and excitement when u pick the lead up, the loyalty I could go on all day.
If I won the lottery, I would buy a huge plot of land out in the sticks, build a modest bungalow(I hate hoovering stairs), and build a massive kennels to take in all the poor doggys in need of a home and the cleaning, feeding, walking etc would definitely be a labour of love.
U hear bout them old crazy cat ladies? If I somehow make it to old age I'll be that crazy dog woman!

new dog :) cats not impressed.

Is that your patio, Badandwicked? Love the bohemian feel of the plant pots, the carved one is ace, and the one with the micro-rockery on the bottom right side. A rare breed of corgi...! Even posher than the Queen, didn't think that was possible ;)

^ thanks Safrolette! Its the patio of the house i rent but it is nice. I dragged all the pots out of the undergrowth except the silver one at the back which is my ex-kitchen bin :) The plants in them were bargains from Morrissons which is a recent discovery but I'll save that for the gardening thread. An old guy up the road gave me the mini rockery plants, they're pretty cool close up.

I guess the dog is posh but she was half price cos she's got a broken tail :D She was the price of 2oz of weed, when I look at things like that I can justify them ;) The Celts brought them to britain something like 3000 years ago so if they're at risk of dying out I won't feel bad if I breed from her.

I have a dog and my dog smiles.:) She's a happy dog. :D

i could bore you all to tears wilth tales of her tail, little spotty ears .... <3 she is a bit silly tho. she chewed her collar up...8) dogs, they are a bit foolish. i can thoroughly understand why people like cats.. i suppose it would be nice to have a cat and a dog..or maybe 2 dogs?
