You guys haven't lived until you've laid in bed peaking on MDMA/6-APB with a warm purring cat lying across your chest.

Your body feels like its made of catty magic. Sublime %)

thats exactly what sold me. My mates cat boots, who sadly got put down last week due to bein an old bugger! Years ago when in my honeymoon period with mdma i spent at least 4 hours with him on my lap giving him non stop fuss. He was purring to the point of ecstacy so it looked, eyes completely closed and as you fussed him he would heavily lean into your hand.

Really opened my eyes to the affection a cat has and they definately react different when your on drugs. My cat likes me when im on gear (about the only thing that does!) but im sure hes spent whole days sat on my lap lol

FH :)

Haha glad to see this debate inspiring some passion Cornish :D

I've already said: They're like Autistic kids with ADHD. I can't imagine one being my "man's best friend" at all.
They're an annoyance and should be wiped out.... Apart from sheep dogs, they serve a purpose ;)

---Edit---
And "seeing eye dogs". For some reason they cause me no annoyance what so ever and do definitely not fit the Autistic kids with ADHD stereotype.

Guide dogs I will allow I guess. Down with sniffer dogs though!

Thankyou. :D

Fun fact: Dogs are mostly alcoholics. They steal bottles of whiskey from tescos. Knowing full well they can't get prosecuted.

It pisses me off so much!! :!

At least cats have the sense to keep catnip under wraps.
If dogs ever synthesized a drug it would be banned within weeks because they draw so much attention to themselves.

Thats about as far away from a description of my dog as you could get, its interesting how polarised the discussion is though, I've always had a disliking for cats I can't ever remember liking them but have no idea why, I mean I would happily stroke a friendly one, I love pretty much all mammals but I would never have one in the house or sat on me.

Maybe its a trust thing, I trust my dog I'm not convinced you can trust cats there flighty selfish little creatures that would sell you down the river for half a can of sardines....even the ones with tomato sauce on ;)

No, you could never trust a cat. They wouldn't lift a paw to help themselves nevermind you. If you were lying injured at home, they'd sooner rob the eyes out of your head and come back for the eyelashes. A dog would head off looking for help, get you a phone, roll a joint, do anything for ya.

All the stories in this thread about cats. They all seem to be strays that you kept cos nobody else wanted them. Most cats have about 3 different homes so they can scrounge and rob from. Pack of selfish, unsociable, disloyal bastards. :D

Gwan the dags. Shut it down! Dags win.

If a dog was to roll me a spliff that may change my mind somewhat.. ;)

Bet it would be a shite one.

You'd definitely want first go, I'd probably turn down a spliff if a dog had been smoking it. The French do that, don't they? Put a spliff in their mouth and get a poodle to jump up and take it. I've seen it in restaurants, I think.

^ haha :D Yeah sloppy doggy seconds would be pretty disgusting.

So who here has tried catnip then?

I like cats and dogs can be cute too but can't handle pets, what with the hair, the poo, the smell, the visits to the vet, the costs, having to sort them out if I want to spend the night or the weekend away, or go on holiday. I don't like that kind of constant commitment, I'm firmly in the 'neither' category.

I have a cat at the moment. Have had him ever since he was a tiny kitten, he will be 4 this year.

I really wanted a dog -- a Belgian Malinois, to be specific (should it be Malinoise, if it's a she?) but there's no way that's possible now, with the new office meaning me spending 10 hours a day away from home. Unless I can get her a fake ID that says she's a Thinking Brain Dog for the Clueless .....

Catty loving is different from doggy loving. A cat can manage without you a lot more easily than a dog can. But you can have more fun with a dog. And the two can live together fine, so I'm going to play the "false dichotomy" card and say BOTH.

I will admit to this, but I was 15 at the time - ah the years before I discovered illegal drugs. Blame it all on that Legal Highs book, that and the nutmeg :o

Still prefer cats this morning, though got rudely awakened by one threatening to spill my bedside glass of water over me kindle - manipulative little *unt :D

Heh, I had some friends over a few weeks back, and I've got a picture of a certain BL'er lying down with both my kittens sitting on his stomach. 'Awwww furry'

I've got another picture, of a friend in the middle of a DMT trip, holding both kittens in his arms, and he has a huge smile on his face. They both were drawn to him like a magnet as soon as he started tripping. It was lovely to watch.
