And once you've got the extract/butane out of the tube there's then the issue of taking a container full of very valuable and volatile solvent back home.

Your quoting me ? I understand the point your trying to make. My post is saying the same thing ? Avoid sources of ignition - do it outside if possible, if not well ventilated room, have a fan blowing etc.

Night falls but it's never actually dark, and no a good proportion of city dwellings have no outside area at all.

The first time I had oil was about 1982, and it fuckin' floored me for a good 8 hours.. It was something which periodically turned up in the early 80's, but not seen it since. However, it was notoriously difficult to deal with, and either came in a straw, or a paracetamol blister. In those days we used to try and skin up with it by smearing it on a rolling paper, but in retrospect I think we'd have been better off just tooting it off some foil. Always ended up wasting far too much by getting it all over our fingers and/or not being able to get it all out of the container.

I saw oil in the early 2000's. Maybe 1999 - 2003 it showed up very occasionally. Always in a tiny little vial and always an absolute cunt to smoke. You're right, scudding it on a bit of foil would have been the best plan but we never thought of that at the time.

edit: Oh, and the easiest way of smoking it is to smear a tiny piece (like, a matchead piece is going to floor you) on a tiny square piece of foil that's been burnt in the, er, normal way and then simply scrunch the foil up or just fold it twice and chuck it in a pipe and smoke it.

Couldn't see much of a commercial market I guess, I would be wanting at least £30 for that tiny bit there.

We used to use a match to scrape a wee line of it along a skin. I can imagine it's not too bad when you've made it yourself but when you've paid for it it's a pain in the hole.

Overall I would definitely say it was worth making. Literally all you need is a couple of jars, some bud, some IPA and a coffee filter. It's more usual to make it from trim from a grow or whatever though.

If you're going to trim your weed properly then of course it is. You'd only be fucking the leaves out anyway

Pretty much because you're never going to be doing a perfect extraction, you'll always be losing stuf somewhere. On the other hand, it's soooo worth it for the sake of getting the opportunity to smoke oil, it's really easy and can be done in an evening if you're not an idiot. It's just a different vibe smoking oil

edit: If your outdoor grow is good and you manicure properly then definitely. Look into making it with butane if you're going to have than much trim, supposedly a cleaner product.
