This is how I made it:
Grind 5 grams of (grade a, expensive) bud and put in the freezer. In a separate container put ~200ml isopropyl alcohol. I did this because the recipe said it makes the crystals brittle and break off the bud easier....which is true for water, but I think using room temp would be better for a solvent extraction. I used plastic tupperware but it felt very slightly funny afterwards so use glass even though plasstic does work. Freeze for a few hours. Then just then pour ~100-150 ml of the solvent on to the bud and close the container and shake hard for about a minute, filter the solvent off using a coffee filter (I actually used one of my aeropresses to squeeze it through the filter) into a container of some sort, then just do another quick wash of 30 seconds of the cannabis with about another 50 ml of the IPA and strain again in to the same container.
You can then evaporate it however you want. The container I used had high sides so I sat it in a water bath in another roasting tray (bain marie type thing) that I continually refilled with boiling water every few minutes. This reduced it down to about 5% in a couple of hours (needless to say that up until now you need to avoid all sources of ignition including electrical and work in a ventilated area at all times) at which point I just took the container and put it in a pan with water that came about a third to a half of the way up the side and boiled gently for a few minutes which evaporated almost all of the IPA (which was a bit of a risk as i was using a gas stove, but it looked like there wasn't enough solvent left to cause a problem). Then I ran it through a low oven (75 degrees c) for 10 minutes and it dried even more. It was ready to smoke then in places like some of the bits ont the card that had dried fully. Overnight the whole lot dried completely to pureness.
Noice. Fella I know was once asked by Bez if he had any spare butane for the purposes of BHO making. Similar only more rough 'n' ready.

Butane is a better method really. This is the tramp way of making oil really, but it works.

Take a grinder, any grinder will do. Fling your weed in it. Grind it up. Tip it out and mix a bit of a snout in with it. Take a skin. Any skin will do. Put the weed/baccy in the skin. Roll that shit. Light that shit. Smoke that shit. Don't blow up your maw's house in the process kids.
Out of interest, why has "wax" or whatever blown up in the US recently? To me it's a really old fashioned thing, went out along with soap bar really. Still wouldn't mind a wee smoke of it again right enough.

im a seasoned smoker, and smoked butane hash for the first time in the states last summer. I asked the guy to do me a big dab cos id been smoking all day on the beach, and was convinced it wouldnt be that crazy.He gave me what looked like the tiniest bit. fired up his rig, and bang.. that was the most high ive ever been in my life. this was medical shit, but still blows anything ive ever smoked right out the water. made me a paranoid mess tho. literally couldn't walk, couldn't function, couldn't do anything. i live in holland and smoke high grade every day, but proper butane hash is some other shit! i believe its actually illegal in holland..

If you have access to a couple of open containers, 5g of very high grade weed, a couple of jars/tupperware containers, IPA (they sell it in maplins) and some coffee filters you can make it, the recipe is right there in this thread! Takes about £60 and an evening to make!

Yes, concentrates are not legal to carry or sell in holland, though some coffeeshops sell them or have gone thru periods of selling. Silly pricing currently: 80-100e for a gram of clean wax, high quality "nug run" and not made of lesser trim. I've seen some shops sell butane oil "BHO" for much lower prices but the bulk of it is said to be unclean amateur product. Do you really want to inhale butane? Purged CO2 extracts are beautiful though.
But, I think the overall best hash is sieve. Dry sift hash can be very pure if done well but will still retain much of the flavonoids, so much more character than oils that just taste like cannabinoids with some hints of solvent and chlorophyll.

This way is much safer though.
IPA is lighter than air so disperses. Butane is heavier so pools on the floor near where your fridge/freezer compressor switch is, if it turns on/off then BOOOOOOM.
Also Butane purge is (iirc) more time consuming and the impurities/denaturants in lighter gas butane are generally much more numerous and sickness inducing than IPA.

Use some common sense (i.e. no sorces of igniition including electrical ones such as laptop, phone etc) whilst doing the extraction and you will be fine. This shit is mental, just KOd myself again with it. Think I might smoke some normal weed now instead.

Those are no risk whatsoever, neither is your TV if you leave it on.
The main things that get people is fridge freezers, most people wouldn't consider it but when that compressor kicks in it creates a pretty big spark. Evaporated butane pools on the floor.
If folk aren't bright enough to do butane extractions outdoors it's Darwinism in action frankly.
I dont understand why people are doing it infront of a fire / source of ignition ? Ill spray a bottle of butane - light that candle ?
As I said, Darwinism in action. There surely cannot be anybody on Earth who has ever come across butane previous who is unaware it is highly flammable. There's no excuse. Outside and away from any sources of ignition. Even the aforementioned Bez was aware of this and he was off his tits at a rave at the time.

Shit why will no-one listen to the point I'm trying to make. Most people are pretty careful, they just overlook things such as thermostats and timers.
Most would do this in the kitchen with the window wide open. But this doesn't really help as butane gas is heavy and pools on the floor. Some people can't really do it outdoors, like the guy above in a flat. Plus it's gonna look well dodgy doing that in your garden!
Your fridge gets a bit warm, thermostat goes off and the compressor kicks in. Spark, therefore explosion.
