E and Juvenile Diabeties (Type 1?)

Just wondering if there are any references to taking E and having Diabeties. Not the 'I ate too much ice cream when I was young' type but the injection twice a day type. I have a friend who maybe wouldn't mind trying some of the good stuff, but neither I or her want to put her at risk if there is a chance of complications (within reason of course).
I had a quick search around the place and found a reference that says it shouldn't be done. Didn't explain why and the whole "You might forget to take your insulin" thing doesn't count as we are reasonable people (stop laughing you lot) and generally pop around reasonable folk (there that shut you up

).
Anyone out there diabetic or knows more?
Ta,
Soma.

just a lil one, had a friend who over new years forgot to eat for a couple of days coz she'd been taking too many biccies, ended up going hypoglycemic(i think) and fainting.
Moral of the story: make sure your friend is careful about their sugar levels and insulin levels throughout the experience
If you do end up doing it, let us know how it goes

No direct problems. Insulin dependants can do most drugs that arent too overwhelming or CNS stimulating without problems. Acid and E have both proved to be fine with diabetic and repsonsible freinds ive known.

Did a proper seach this time and came up with heaps of info... amazing eh?

I actually became quite interested in this same topic some time ago. Along with searching/posting here I also asked in a diabeties newsgroup. Apart from all the flames about how irresponsible it was, the general consensus was as long as he/she remembered to test their insulin levels every few hours they would be fine...

Wow, coincidently I met a new SSUer this last weekend who is insulin dependent. Needless to say I recommended Bluelight to her as a highly desirable source of information... and cool people. Care to post some references Soma to make a diabetic potential new-bluelighter's quest for knowledge simpler?
BILL, the entity until recently known as DSF... I might post an explanatory note soon.
