Dying for a burger? Why are trans fats still legal in the UK? [Amphetamine reference]

^ Kind of annoying knowing your tax is going towards mobility scooters for the fat fucks though, and nhs approved tummy tucks.

Because eating less + moving more is such a complex formula... -.-

University of Liverpool test-tube study found that when mixed with a common food color ingredient, aspartame actually became toxic to brain cells

^ Read that today, thought it was important enough to post

If you don't want trans-fats, artificial sweeteners, excess salt, soylent green, etc. in your food, then make it yourself! :p

Well, the word "sugar" is used in two ways.
1) sugarcane, and processed/refined products from that plant
2) sucrose, fructose, and other sweet carbs

So, honey etc have sugar2 in them, but not sugar1.

Personally, I believe that sugar1 is very bad for people - I have apparently read the same things as darkside Sam about immune system suppression, and I feel that it affects me badly.
But honey and maple syrup, in moderation, can be very good for people - honey is anti-bacterial, for example, and maple syrup was recently shown to have certain chemicals not known from any other source, which appear to be health-giving.

Just... no. The refined product of sugar cane is sucrose.

But truth be told, sugar is sugar. It's all fast-absorbing. Triggers insulin release, which leads to your body entering an anabolic state in which it's easier to gain weight. If you ate a burger without fries and a coke, anyone could stay thin. But the excess simple carbohydrates make that burger so easy to be metabolized into fat.

^
Ive been told straight after weight training, to eat something sugary like chocolate to trigger insulin release, after a protein shake so that my body takes it in quicker/easier

When i was a child, i suffered all the time with bad bad headaches. Every day nearly.

The only thing i can put it down to is drinking drinks with aspartame in it,
ever since i quit the aspartame i literally get a headache 3 - 4 times a year now.

Seriously. Artificial sweeteners are not good for you at all, the lab test results on rats and such are very bad results. I understand that people on this forums use and abuse what they must think are much more dangerous chemicals but in fact, some of the recreational substances we use are less harmful (in some ways) than these sweeteners.

Worth a look into, unless you arent too bothered about your health of course ,

I mainly dont use them as they do honestly give me a headache

I used to get ear infections often as a kid, and they used a lot of sweetener in the medicine at the time so kids would like it better. Now my teeth are stained and I get chronic migraines. I only get them once or twice every couple of months now, but arificial sweeteners trigger them. Suuucks

Just... no. The refined product of sugar cane is sucrose.

ok, so I stand corrected.
But my point is valid: people use the word sugar in two ways.
One is to refer to products made from sugar cane (as in "I put sugar in my coffee.")
The other is to refer to sweet things from other sources (as in "Fruit juice has a lot of sugar in it, naturally".)

And I dislike sugar cane, due to its effects on health, but I love honey (though I consume it in moderation).

What i commonly see happening in the UK is, people get fat... eat junk food... get fatter and Fatter...
... Then....

BOOM they are on DLA..

then they get even fatter and they get a free mobility car and they can just ride round and be fat and live off everyones wages.

(I only speak from people i know who DO NOT have underlying illness which cause obesity, Underactive thryroid For example)

not trying to be an arsehole or anything, but medically people who are very overweight are just harming themselves and are restricting their lifestyles

so fucking true
